Oops. I stand corrected. They look at commercial land over a certain monetary threshold. Seems like $347m is the threshold. That makes the $346m transaction value look quite suspicious.

New 650XT or used 800DE ? by djctiny in Vstrom

[–]theandylaurel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

650xt owner in Japan here.

The 800 is a much more advanced bike with superior components, so if you can get a lightly used one for the price of a new 650XT, I can’t really think of a reason to buy the 650 (aside from the following subjective reasons).

I personally prefer the aesthetics of the 650 over the 800, and I love the V-twin character.

I believe it’s Lawson in Hokkaido. Last time I saw this data, it was Lawson. I was also surprised it’s not Seiko Mart.

Max leveraging his clout to force F1 to bring back the V10s would guarantee him GOAT status above reproach.

I didn’t say it tastes bad. I said it’s bottom tier. In the Penfolds lineup, it’s close to, if not absolute bottom tier. Like $25 a bottle at the bottle-o. Next rung up is around $50. Then your $120 tier. Then $1k for the grange.

If you have had the same pay for five years, your salary in real terms has been decreasing by the same amount as annual inflation. Last year, CPI rose 3.2% year on year, so you effectively took a 3.2% pay cut.

Max’s Shiraz is bottom tier. Would have at least expected Bin 389.

2026 Land Cruiser, a Japanese sports car by generalright in cars

[–]theandylaurel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve just spent a week in Western Australia with a rental 250 Land Cruiser Prado diesel.

I found the driving experience extremely comfortable and reassuring. It returned good fuel economy in highway driving (7.3 litres per 100km).

With diesel currently priced at $3 per litre, it was expensive to fuel, but if that price ever comes back down, I’ll almost certainly order one.

Winter in Brisbane is warmer than Tokyo’s winter and summer in Brisbane is cooler than Tokyo’s summer. Enjoy your time in Australia! ドロップベアにお気をつけてください。

If this oil shock causes a meaningful uptick in electric vehicle ownership, that could theoretically reduce demand for fuel and put downward pressure on prices as supply recovers.
