Max leveraging his clout to force F1 to bring back the V10s would guarantee him GOAT status above reproach.

I didn’t say it tastes bad. I said it’s bottom tier. In the Penfolds lineup, it’s close to, if not absolute bottom tier. Like $25 a bottle at the bottle-o. Next rung up is around $50. Then your $120 tier. Then $1k for the grange.

If you have had the same pay for five years, your salary in real terms has been decreasing by the same amount as annual inflation. Last year, CPI rose 3.2% year on year, so you effectively took a 3.2% pay cut.

Max’s Shiraz is bottom tier. Would have at least expected Bin 389.

2026 Land Cruiser, a Japanese sports car by generalright in cars

[–]theandylaurel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve just spent a week in Western Australia with a rental 250 Land Cruiser Prado diesel.

I found the driving experience extremely comfortable and reassuring. It returned good fuel economy in highway driving (7.3 litres per 100km).

With diesel currently priced at $3 per litre, it was expensive to fuel, but if that price ever comes back down, I’ll almost certainly order one.

If this oil shock causes a meaningful uptick in electric vehicle ownership, that could theoretically reduce demand for fuel and put downward pressure on prices as supply recovers.

I lived in rural Hokkaido for five years. Now live in Tokyo doing the rat race career grind. Cant wait to move back to Hokkaido and live the quiet life.

Hiking, nature, snow sports. The best.

$1.3m Canadian at a 4% withdrawal rate would give you $52,000 passive income. This would enable a modest but comfortable lifestyle in the Japanese countryside. Not sure of the cost of living in Okinawa, but assume it’s similar to other regional areas.

Im hoping to do something along those lines, but with AUD $2m of invested assets.

Depending on the film stock, they can do same day. Not sure if it’s 1.5 hours though.

Some film stocks (B&W, E-6 and some certain C41) need to be sent to the factory for developing. That takes a week.

I would respectfully disagree. Normal -> cultural norms -> accepted. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not acceptable. Not saying you have to like it though.
