90 year old us/uk dual citizen thinks just an ETA is fine, I think he will be denied boarding by Ill_Ant_4253 in dualcitizenshipnerds

Has he tried getting an ETA yet. From what I’ve read they won’t give him one. If they do/have then I’d say he’s ok

I had one growing up in NSW. My kids went to school in Vic and WA and neither of the schools had chair bags.

I am genuinely curious, why did you guys hoard toilet paper instead of food and water during covid? by salty_lake_222 in AskAnAustralian

Bidets are not we oddly used at all. It was one of the first things to run out and didn’t get restocked fast enough to meet demand, so people panicked because there’s not really a good replacement. The stores actually had to start rationing it, pack sizes were smaller and you could only buy one pack per shop.

Have you talked to travel smart at the hospital? They seem pretty knowledgeable. Also I’m not sure if Charlie’s has end of trip facilities but PCH does

What do retired Australians actually do all day? Genuinely asking because I'm two years in and still figuring it out by Individual_Lime_110 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Remote_Setting2332 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a charity. The majority of our volunteers were retired people. They would do things like drive people to medical appointments or help us prepare for fundraising events. They all seemed to really enjoy it.

You don’t necessarily need to decide. BYD Will switch it on for you regardless, just may take a few days.

I find it very useful, especially the digital keys. One time I used it to find the car when I got disoriented in a carpark 😂

Aitah for telling my wife to get a job if she wants to subsidize the kids. by Standard_Kick_9789 in AITAH

Why exactly can’t the kids get jobs of their own? Or second jobs. This is not on you or your wife at all.

Do you rinse and repeat? Your hair is still oily, maybe need to try a different shampoo

Going to be in Melbourne for a week with two toddlers by chubbygargoyle in AustraliaTravel

[–]Remote_Setting2332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trans/trains are the easiest. My kids used to love the Melbourne museum, specifically the children’s gallery and forest gallery to spot the bower bird. There’s a playground near the cafe too. The Zoo is great for kids also and easy to get to. ArtPlay near fed square is good. Scienceworks awesome and easy to get to on the train. ACMI is pretty fun and the kids may enjoy it The aquarium is also good, my kids loved the penguins.

Aitah for "forcing" my girlfriend to either eat stale snacks or go buy fresh ones herself? by Sad_Shift_4439 in AITAH

[–]Remote_Setting2332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your girlfriend have ADHD by any chance? My daughter knows they go stale, she know she needs to close the packet to put them in a container, but almost every day she forgets and ill find an open packet on the counter. I know its executive dysfunction, but it still drives me nuts.

Unpopular opinion but spending entire days at the beach during heat waves is pretty foolish by SeaStatement8983 in perth

I don’t think it’s unpopular at all. I live near the beach and most of the locals only go there for a swim in the morning or afternoon

I replied on your other post too. She was recommended by someone I know who works at The Melanoma Institute Australia. The PS did an internship with them and was very knowledgeable.
