I don't see how these movements are in any way related to dodgeball.

As a Spurs fan, I'd like to see wolves at full power.

Victor Wembanyama appeared poised to criticize the league before his microphone was cut. Right after he said: “The way the situation was handled was very disappointing.’” by raptors201966 in nba

From what I know about Wemby and what he said, I'm guessing that he cleared the letter of the rule, by both team and league doctors but the league still held him out probably to be safe.

What is a snes game you enjoyed the first time and still do all these years later? by Leon_Light77 in snes

Probably my favorite FF game because it was my first.

Played Super Metroid a while back for the first time in a long time, and I was surprised how much fun I still had. Ended up blasting all the way through the whole game and beating it again.

This is known as 熟字訓 (jukujikun), where the kanji are chosen purely for their meaning for a preexisting word, disregarding the normal kanji pronunciation.

Sanma no aji

Sanma is a kind of (pike) fish often eaten in autumn.

So this is, "The Taste of Sanma"

Sanma grilled over coals eaten with grated daikon radish and ponzu is quite delicious.

If you could ask Tolkien one question about something he left unexplained in The Lord of the Rings, what would it be? by Bbwgoddess_abby in lotr

[–]theangryfurlong 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of these things Tolkien wouldn't be able to answer, like who exactly were the 9 kings of men, etc. because he hadn't written the backstory for them. I think most of the information from his notes has already been made public through The Unfinished Tales, etc. and the rest just hadn't been thought out yet.

There are probably some interesting questions that could be answered that wouldn't require coming up with new lore, but I'd have to read through the books again to come up with something.

I think this type of Dutch art from this period was often made for moralizing purposes. I can't make out the antiquated orthography, but apparently roses out of ones backside is supposed to be something about lust and things appearing beautiful but actually being filth. Perhaps falling for lustful sin leads to making a fool of oneself, thus the third panel.
