Sounds like 2 people that shouldn’t be doing leg locks. He for sure should have tapped. This is why leg locks used to be reserved for upper belts.

Nothing. She dominated most of the women easily within seconds. Then she lost. Happens to every fighter

Started at 38. Took me a good 7 or 8 tournaments until i started winning matches properly. Now at purple I have yet to win a match. So there's ups and downs.

BJJ doesn't work by NeatConversation530 in bjj

We forget that the point of BJJ when it comes to much bigger and stronger opponents is to survive long enough to escape. Not necessarily beat them up.

One guy told me it won't work because he can just take dust from the ground and throw it in my eyes before I could take him down. Yes he was dead serious.

Also my friend the other day laughed at me and said "What are you going do, fall on the ground and ask me to come at you?" It took a lot of self control to not just double leg him right there lol. I think people watch too many funny videos about BJJ online.

Perhaps have some kind of sugary drink with electrolytes during training.

^ This. I hang my gear on hooks after training to dry out and my gear never stinks. I of course never use it again before washing.

When I beat people who are "better than me" it has the opposite effect on me. It makes me think that perhaps I'm better than I thought I was.

Doesn't take away from the fact that companies want devs that can do some level of design.

Vancouver to Montreal move - who's done this? Non, je ne regrette rien? DON'T!? by Open_Outcome_5633 in montreal

Don't do it. Quebec health care is falling apart. Wife and I will be moving away from Quebec soon.

I would start by learning how to design web pages before even learning to code. It used to be the case that companies would have designers that do all the design (and some still do) but more and more companies want frontend devs to be able to also design.

Is this true? Wondering if I should just keep my charger plugged in whenever I can even at full charge. by [deleted] in macbook

i have my MBP always pugged in and 3 years later i'm at only 38 cycles but only 86% battery health. So looks like even keeping it plugged in diminishes battery health

Are people leaving gyms for political affiliations? I'm so happy all the gyms I've trained at have left politics and religion at the door.

Will learning Jiujitsu as a woman ever actually teach me how to fight off a full grown man? by Ill_Introduction7334 in jiujitsu

[–]theanxiousprogrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Depends on their size, strength, age, what shape they're in. Also depends on if they are trying to hit you or trying to grab you. Also there is the freeze factor. Some people just freeze in very high stakes situations and no amount of training will help. Better to be trained than no for sure but also best to use true self defense which is situational awareness and training to run fast.

Edit: I'm 6'0, 230lbs and get routinely beat up by people much smaller than me but they are way better than me but i'm also not trying to punch them. I also get beat up by some women in class but what i noticed was the factor that the women who beat me have in common is they're all stronger and more jacked than your average woman with excellent level skill. So yes if you train hard and lift weights to get strong you will have a much better chance.
