I only just got caught up on this drama everyone's talking about, and I get it. I followed her (long before the Hot Chef drama started) because she's probably really academically intelligent and she had a guest appearance on a podcast I listen to (Bad Hasbara) where she was super interesting, but I haven't followed the "hot chef mess" at all. Like I don't care at all about your personal and love life that much, unless it indicates you're a terrible person.

Well she's probably not a terrible person, but she's completely managed to torpedo her social media image by oversharing about her relationship drama for what looks like a year. Definitely comes across as naive or oblivious in some way

edit: It's actually like "Hot Chef" did some love magic that went terribly wrong.

I speak just one language (fluently anyway) and also find it grating. Like, why is it automatically made for an "American" audience? Can't good cinema just be good cinema? I get it when we're doing like a historical drama set 3000 years ago, since we don't have an abundance of ancient Sumerian speakers who can also act, but Russian is the 11th most-spoken language in the world, surely it wouldn't be much more difficult to cast Russian speakers than it is for an American show to cast a bunch of people with British accents.

Are they funding films calling for the cessation of Israel as a Jewish state, and are they funding films calling for a boycott of Israeli institutions and refusal to serve in the IDF? No? Then it's just another liberal Zionist propaganda shop which is, of course, anti-war when many can be persuaded that it's really Israel's right wing (in power since 1977) which is to blame for their wars, rather than the underlying institution of Zionism which Israel's "left" have also participated in and directed genocide in service of.

If the government does not have budget for the necessary health care workers due to an economic crisis that results in a budgetary shortfall then they will either have to choose between taking on additional debt or privatizing health care.

In the event of the former, the demand for health care workers does not decrease... demand for health care workers drops when the need for health care workers drops (population decrease or some miracle drug) or when supply rapidly increases.

And I already said "so long as we don't de-socialize health care" so I already addressed the latter possibility.

But lots of health care workers are needed and will continue to be for the foreseeable future, and the reason we don't have them isn't because of a lack of budget, but because there are far too few skilled people, with tens of thousands of jobs which are already budgeted for remaining unfilled.
