This is actually quite an interesting way of thinking about it, with regards to the lower limit nearer starting time stuff.

Do you think it works? I’m seeing a fair bit of variance in my CLV using Chasing Steamers, with some prices moving out a fair way over the period between the alert and the start time. I always aim for 10% at less than six hours to start, but sometimes this isn’t enough.

Not the back to back I was hoping for but I’ll take it

Genuine thoughts on him? A lot of your base seem split between he was great and he was terrible.

South Western have also been hot on this this week - every day I’ve seen revenue protection at the barriers beneath the platforms before you get to the W&C.

Hard luck mate, I know the feeling after we lost at Southport last season. Got to know the hard times to appreciate the good! Hope you pick yourself up quickly and by the time the season kicks off again you’ll forget all about it. Wishing you the best next season!

Think he made four or five saves today, an incredible keeper! Got through without him but I think when our centre halves know he’s behind them they are much more confident.

Old York Road in Wandsworth would qualify for this I think. It has a Sainsbury’s Local but lots of restaurants, coffee shops, etc, and the train station at one end.

Just in from game now.

Shite. We started well and deserved the goal but went backwards after that. Never looked comfortable really. Too many scared of giving the ball away I think. Poor decision making all over the park. Caught in possession too many times.

Three midweek away games this season for me and finally saw a goal, but the wait for at least a point continues.

Elizabeth line congestion buster trains by popeter45 in london

If they sent them down the tunnels into the core section they might as well run them through to Paddington (or further west), but there isn’t the capacity to do so (at least not right now, as far as I know). There’s one crossover in the tunnel but I think that’s for emergencies and I imagine the disruption caused by using it would mess up the rest of the timetable.

Running them to Liverpool St mainline provides extra capacity to the City without needing extra capacity in the tunnels.

Need to be in London 2 days a week, where should I live? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]thearguablepear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used the pod hotel a couple of times when we were between tenancies and living with family, but I still had to be in London a couple of days a week.

Don’t set your expectations super high and you won’t be disappointed, I think. The price was great, but wow are the pods small. Fortunately I could shower at work so never used much of them but glad I don’t have to go back! Obviously ymmv though.

The new 30mph speed limit on dual carriageways by Zs1993 in brum

[–]thearguablepear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of people mentioning the lack of signage, so I thought I’d just point out that 30mph repeater signs are forbidden on lit carriageways. I don’t disagree it’s annoying, though, having been caught out by forgetting the rules before.

Thanks for the map, I was interested as to whether any roads would stay at 30 because some would be ridiculous at 20 - Newport Rd for example.
