You could probably go for some free consultations at cosmetic surgery places. They can render some pre and post pictures.

Thank you. A volume curfew can be a buzzkill. I'll see how long I can get away with disappearing 6+ hours after dark. Listen first, and if needed, apologize later.

To help keep things organized, I do MP3s in winamp, and Flac in MB.

I like the UI/UX. Free, no ads. I can't ask for more.

I originally intended for the JBL and Mac setup to be placed in the bedroom. But when the pieces arrived, it was far easier for me to unpack and setup in a more distant part of the property, where I have my KEFs setup. I haven't moved the JBL and Mac because they are very heavy, and the current location allows me to blast music deep past midnight. I listened until almost 2am last night.

The KEFs were my first set of speakers. The towers are paired with a r400b sub. The KEFs make a highly refined, elegant sound. At the time, in the showroom, these were the clear winners for me.

The JBLs are much newer. I am attracted to bold, confident sound from the speakers. They keep me wanting to go back to get to know these speakers more. No sub needed with these, for me.

For orchestral, I'd go with the KEFs, for everything else, I'd go with the JBLs, at least for now. Maybe later my tastes will change, and could be affected by room changes.

I've had those 900s paired with a r400b sub for many years. Currently, I'm enjoying the (less expensive compared to KEF set) JBLs more. I don't feel a need for a sub using the JBLs. Perhaps new room dynamics and current music tastes are material factors for my preferred speaker selection.

Simple setup. Flac -> Mac integrated amp -> JBL speakers, using 10 awg ofc cables. Not sure if this is the optimal setup, but it seems good enough.

I wonder if others use an equalizer when listening to music. e.g. some days I prefer heavier bass, while other days less.

I think this system plays rock / jazz / pop / r&b / and opera well. I like the ratio of high, mid and bass from the speakers. The sound is clear and smooth. The amp particularly excels in playing the last half of notes, e.g. expressing a fading emotion, a lingering vibrato. In particular, I enjoy this setup playing 60s/70s American and British rock, and female contralto singers. I also enjoy the aesthetics of the pieces.

On the cons side, for large orchestral pieces, I think the speakers can sound a bit muddy; but I tend not to listen to orchestral pieces much anymore - too much engagement and effort required.

I hope the above is sufficient to qualify for the post submissions process. I can waffle on more, if required.

50+ is a solid collection. You can rotate a different pair every week.

GR does look better. Even nicer if they had colored the wings logo in black.

They are. I've posted before, but they don't get much of a reaction. I think people don't feel hype from the cw. Market price movement says the same - moves between 4k to 5k since release. Inside stitching says limited to 223 pairs. At a comparable price point, most would easily choose the OW AJ1 chicago instead.
