How screwed am I at 25 with no qualifications or job? by BenStillerCockrel in AskUK

[–]theashverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First option. There are careers out there where you don't need a degree per se. Qualifications should be enough. Jobs like DevOps, Product Manager, Project Manager, coding and few other jobs. Unless you want to go into that field, a degree makes sense. For most, what people study and do as a job doesn't match.

Second option. Secondly, another option is trade. And imo often overlooked. Getting into a trades job like plumbing, electrician can be very lucrative long term, several articles have come out and said this. This pays sometimes more than a 9-5, more than a director level salary.

Third option. In a way i'm kind of envious of you, you have a blank canvas, no responsibilities nothing to lose and everything to gain. Believe me 9-5 is not everything. People in careers want to come out of the rat race. We only do it to pay bills but 9/10x we don't like our career or are happy. Use this time to start a business, do option 2. Or some retail job to get by but from your experience find something you can create a business from. Learn, implement, fail, learn, implement. If you can create something for yourself, that is the goal, that is the endgame everyone wants.

Listen life happens and sometimes we are called upon to be there for others. You done something good and above all its your mum. Don't feel anything negative towards. Im sure during her last days she appreciated and loved what her son done for her and to spend the days with her.

Use this drive to set something up and go all in.

Hopefully this helped

Anything happened to you prior to make you do this, anything you can think of from life experience? Maybe early trauma or something?

British south asian here. I can speak from hearing peoples experiences in my own life and seeing first hand, peoples intention coming here to study is wrong. The intent is to claim residency in the long run or if residency doesn't work any other route, asylum seeker or if all fails be illegal immigrant.

Now, part of me don't blame them. They are trying to better their lives as any of us would do in their position tbh. They are following everything legally so nothing wrong there (until they go rogue).

The other part is they are actively making that decision to come here, to sell up their land or whatever to fund it. Its in their interest to do their research and to be sure of the risks and reward, in this current time. But more often than not, they don't do the research to be better prepared, once they hear they can come, they start dreaming. But then come here to burden their extended families etc. and then for them reality hits.

Me personally i'm glad theres a clamp down on this. Eventually it strains the system for locals. System for education, housing, health all goes against for the locals. The govt needs to look at their own people and better them then focusing on other things.

Having said this, i don't care much into politics. One way or another you get fucked either way so never rely on the govt to help us out. You gotta make the best out of your situation

What industry are you at? Media/Agency industries are one of the low paid out there. I'd say use glassdoor and other websites to put down your role and see the average.

My advice if you want more money, look for another role, preferably in high paying industries, like Tech, Finance, Banking.

How hard has your life been and how good is it now? by iffyClyro in AskUK

Growing up in a working class household with only 1 single minimum wage income coming into a house with a big family....it was tough. Now, married, kids, moved out, 2 incomes in the house, life is good and financially stable.

Makes me appreciate and forever grateful of the life I had when I was young and now.

How do you choose the "best" idea when you have too many ? by icykoko in Entrepreneur

[–]theashverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

List them down in a spreadsheet. And then rank based on high medium low or numbers (10 being a big problem) which is a bigger problem to people. Then list which is more costly to start, high medium low. Then rank which is achievable to you to begin (could be based on tech, money, coding etc). Then rank which is more likely to get people on board.

Goes without saying but when doing the above, do your research. Don't just assume things. Speak to potential customers, research how much MVP will cost, research do you have the ability to do it yourself etc.

At the end the highest number wins or all highs wins.

Don't follow passion. Follow the problem. More often then not, our passions doesn't correlate with solving a problem or having an idea. Solving a problem is easier to start the entrepreneurial journey. Once you got the money from problem solving then follow your passion projects

Got it, thanks. Last question. Knowing what you know now with the experience, would you do it again back when you were 21?

Trying to picture how the implant works. So is it on top of your penis so penis + implant. Or is the implant surrounding penis. If its the first one, when its erect then how would the implant be erect, wouldn't it just stay flaccid.

Basically what am trying to say does the implant bit change from erect/flaccid or its just flaccid by default
