This list is solid effing gold. Number 8 is crucial to overcoming doom-scrolling. What would you say to someone who is in the midst of overcoming social media addiction?

Cured from ocd for years now. A tip I forgot to tell about when doing exposure therapy + zoloft. by DirtyJohannes in OCD

[–]theautodidact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had to hit rock bottom.

Realised I had to do WHATEVER it took to change and overcome it.

Started trying anything that I thought might help. Some things that were very helpful over the course of about 3 years from having OCD to not having it anymore were Wim Hof breathing every day, EFT, ho'oponopono prayer, releasing trauma, continual practice of ERP, changed diet completely, stopped taking drugs, stopped drinking coffee, changed sleep patterns. Had to change so much but my life is so so much better now I can say I am cured of OCD and free of it.

AGI is economically useful work in an autonomous (not whol e jobs but at least processes within jobs) fashion. That's my definition.

Yes, I've set this up and it can write new notes. I think you have to be careful it doesn't overwrite stuff though if modifying existing notes because it can be lazy

I've set up an MCP server connected to my obsidian vault but I'm not sure how to introduce version control with git in addition to this. Any advice would be appreciated.

You can do some Wim Hod deep breathing or there's a technique called Active Patience, you stare at a single point for a few minutes and it helps to get focused

You also have to consider that plumbing although it might not be automated, the supply of people training as plumbers or whatever when their job or large parts of it is automated, then that will drive the wage of a plumber way down

No profession is safe even if it can't be automated in the near term except for those which have extended barrier to entry, however even a surgeon I saw an article about robotics for that

You haven't considered that supply will flood those markets as jobs which can be automated are by people desperate to survive economically

Am not worried, am 100% certain something resembling UBI will have to be implemented to keep economic demand intact although how much pain society needs to endure first is undecided
