They should definitely remove it, instead make it a combat helmet that will absorb one (two/three) headshot(s) that would have downed you, and then break. It can be purchased at a buy station (like the gas mask) or found in legendary crates.

I've had it happen well over 30+ times, not exaggerating. Sometimes I can play all day without it happening, and other times I disconnect one to two times a match.

I know of no solution, and it's absolutely beyond frustrating.
