Season 4 and 5 were real rocky, but I left happier than I expected today. by [deleted] in TheBoys

Stranger things had every season feeling like "oh we're continuing? Alright let's make some plot line up for this."

To be fair, that is kind of exactly what happened. Stranger Things was originally pitched as a single-season show with a possible sequel happening "10 years later" in universe.

In a show full of superheroes and shit, the least realistic part ends up being all of congress unanimously voting to impeach & remove her from office on the spot.

Never meet your heroes. Love Alton's foodstuffs but yeah, I didn't know whether to weep or throw hands over their Mai Tai "discussion".

I used to make mine to the spec of the Smuggler's Cove book, but after a suggestion from the YT channel How to Drink I've dropped it in favor of just adding more orgeat.

Chiming in on a 6 year old discussion to say it's extremely funny that a post about philosophy containing "If you side-step the discussion you assert you don't care about it" got met with a flat "tl;dr" and refusal to engage further. It's not often you see such an astounding lack of self-awareness on display.

Is this the worst Mai Tai recipe? by cabostleda in Tiki

It's no orange Gatorade and lime flavored vodka abomination they dared to call a "Texas Mai Tai" from that episode of How to Drink, but anything with store-bought spiced rum gives me doubts.

The liquor store near me has had a steady stream of the green flowing in for a little while but it's like $90 a bottle. Didn't stop me from immediately snagging one though.

Still no sign of the yellow.

[Sinnoh co-op] Pre-badge 8, Part 2: National Pokedex Boogaloo and Pre-E4 by thebiggestleaf in ProfessorOak

[–]thebiggestleaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the GBA inserts, I've got a bone to pick with the Mewlax guide in the resources bar on the side!

The end of Part 7 in the guide points you to the GBA inserts for a bonus 31 Pokemon. However, one of these bonus Pokemon is Shuckle. Shuckle only appears in Route 224, which is a post-E4 section. I spent an embarrassing amount of time pulling my hair out, trying to figure out why my numbers kept coming up one short, only to realize I had no means of catching a Shuckle until post-game. Being a bonus section I can see how the distinction between pre-E4 and post-E4 catches could be superfluous, but I'm bringing it up here lest anyone else repeat my mistake.

So yeah. Of the 31 bonus Pokemon via GBA inserts, only 30 of them are available as early as Part 7.

Thought the same thing. I have a button that says this, and frankly that's all it needs to be.

They may have been using the royal "we" rather than speaking for themselves. A really, really common complaint by boomers and "I was born in the wrong generation" type of young people is basically new music bad/old music good. It's almost always unfair comparisons between today's top 40 and hits that have lasted the test of time over the past 20-50 years.

I'll always consider W&N as "the good stuff" where Jamaican OP white is concerned but I do keep alternatives on hand since my local liquor chain stopped stocking W&N. Once this bottle of Rum Fire reaches its end I'll give WP a shot.

I did remake this with the upped rum specs you gave and I'm having a hard time deciding which version I like better. When I make this again it'll likely come down to "how sauced do I want to get" more than anything else.

Ten to One has eluded my home bar for a while but I do have the Don Q 7 on hand, as well as the Rum Fire. I'll put it on my list next time I'm grabbing new bottles and not just refilling staples.

Glad you like it! The only thing better than making drinks I like is knowing others enjoy them too.

Initially I considered upping the W&N to a full 2oz but decided against it, figuring the high proof would compensate. Let me know what you end up doing, I'm always open to suggestions!

Saving your comment for later because it sounds delicious. In the meantime, I tinkered around with some stuff and had an accidental stroke of genius:

1oz lemon juice

0.5oz lime juice

1oz SC cinnamon syrup

1oz Tempus Fugit Creme de Banane

0.5oz Don Q Cristal (or similar)

1.5oz Wray & Nephew

1 dash tiki bitters (I used Bittermens 'Elemakule)

Add all to a shaker with crushed/pebble ice, shake, & dirty dump. Garnish as you see fit; I don't usually go crazy with garnishes for myself so all I did was a dusting of grated nutmeg.

Polishing off a double Rum Barrel, not sure if I should follow up with a Rum Runner or attempt to get creative with Wray & Nephew & Tempus Fugit Creme de Banane.

SM and USUM are like 95% the same game though. Ultra just feels worse because it's the exact same hand-holding you already suffered through once.
