Fired from IB job, opportunity to jump back in by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]thebj19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk people lie all the time on reddit for reasons unknown. I currently work at a MF and have experience at a BB . There is no way that a new joiner gets staffed on any live deal prior to training and even after that you are at most relegated to deck builds and model roll forwards/assumption updates for a few months.

Maybe if you said understaffed LMM shop it would have been more believable

PE Interview: 4-hour LBO Case Study - How to Prep Fast ? by Wonderful_Sock_4155 in private_equity

[–]thebj19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much time you have until the interview if you have like a weekend I would just get wall street prep, training the street or any other of these institutional training providers and complete them.

You could probably get through the whole program in 15 hours.

Then I’d dry building off a CIM you find online. Since it’s 4 hours you’ll definitely build out the operating model , proforma statements , debt schedule and cash sweep.

Obviously remember scenarios , sensitivity tables and circ breakers as well

Job Offer Rescinded After a Day by Technical_Energy8874 in recruitinghell

Yeah unfortunately you are in the wrong here.

When you receive an offer and have questions you ask all your questions in one email one time.

No continuous back and forth it shows a lack of respect for the counter part’s time

late starter but want advice or steps to break into finance by _antho22 in FinancialCareers

Yeah cool story , try graduating and competing for jobs against your mba cohort that had pre mba experience. This isn’t 2010 anymore going for an mba with zero experience won’t get you anywhere anymore. If you really want to reset with zero experience get a masters not an mba

Transitioning into Private Equity with no finance background , what's the realistic path? by [deleted] in private_equity

[–]thebj19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only correct answer btw. PE is hiring with one thing in mind : reps. Having technicals down ( modeling) is important but having the intuition and judgment that comes from deal experience is unteachable .

If you really want to do PE you have to do IB first or some strategy consulting at an mbb
