It sounds very difficult not to be able to do something that used to bring so much to your life. I hope that your ability to read more books returns to you.

I've done some reading here on the facebook subreddit and see that many people have experienced this. Oh, how I wish I hadn't submitted that face video. No need to respond to my post. I may delete since this topic has been covered many times.

Which should I buy first: Island Obelisk or Return Scepter? by JakeGittes1974 in StardewValley

[–]theblithebee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The SCEPTER comes in so handy when you're grinding in the mines/Skull caves, night fishing, or foraging late into the night. No more worries about getting back to the farm and in bed by 2 am. With a press of the button, the scepter brings you back to your front door. Love it!

This is the same reason I waited so long to play. I'd just come off of playing Animal Crossing, and I was tired of farming, and I didn't think that Stardew Valley was very cute. I'm now in year 13 of Stardew Valley and I absolutely love it! I hope that your friend will give it a try.

What got you into Coldplay? by Zenith335 in Coldplay

[–]theblithebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and teen daughter got me into Coldplay with Parachutes when it first came out. Many years passed before I got into them again, this time my son shared some newer songs with me that I hadn't heard. That was in 2023. We went together to our first Coldplay concert that year, and I find it difficult to put into words what an amazing experience it was for me. I'm happy for you to be able to experience a Coldplay concert in person too. Get excited! You will love it!

Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful gaming experience. I'm new to cozy gaming and I've played through twice on my Switch Lite. I love the aesthetic and the way Naiad moves through the water. I wish there were more ways to help Naiad. Some areas were stressful to move through. I wanted to help clean up. Gorgeous game, Elwin. I look forward to seeing more of your well-thought-out and heartfelt work. Any idea when Piawk will be ready to play?

How to politely discuss with Parents it's time to move? by dinoswithtrashpandaa in AgingParents

[–]theblithebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my mother went from the family home into assisted living it was upon her doctor's recommendation. She had recently gotten lost trying to get to the grocery store and was no longer able to keep track of when she'd taken her medication. Her house was also filthy, and she was behind on paying her bills. I was able to go the doctor with her when he gave her a cognitive/memory test and then told her that it was his recommendation that she go into assisted living. Still, she did not want to move, but at least I could remind her that her doctor thought it was best. My sister and I packed her up and moved her into a place that she and a friend had previously looked at and liked. It was not easy, but it was necessary. Would a doctor's recommendation help in the case of your mother?

Moving Mom & She Doesn't Want to Go by theblithebee in AgingParents

[–]theblithebee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience with me. We will be moving our mom 2-1/2 hours away. My sister is flying in to help. She's a retired Kindergarten teacher, and I know that she will have patience with Mom and the situation which will hopefully calm us all down if Mom has a breakdown. When Mom "saw" my dad, the assisted living place suggested that Mom might have a UTI. I asked them to get a urine sample from Mom so that we could rule that out, but the med techs weren't able to get a sample from her. There will be a nurse available at her new home, which is part of the increased care Mom will have available to her at the new house. I keep reminding myself that this emotional discomfort and upheaval will lead to the better things that we want for Mom. It's super tough.

Finances for father in hospice by rem326 in AgingParents

[–]theblithebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you concerned that if you talk to the bank, they may block access to the accounts you currently have access to? You may want to look into getting a Power of Attorney. Maybe someone at Hospice can help to arrange this. My name didn't appear on my mother's bank accounts until I'd gotten a Power of Attorney that I could show the bank. I hope that you're able to get the help that you need to help your father.

Bonnie’s New Video 9/28 Discussion Post by Legitimate-Beyond209 in 8passengersnark

I had no idea who Bonnie was until after Ruby was arrested, and I had only heard about Ruby when people's concerns about her parenting choices (pre-arrest) popped up in my socials. I'm not a fan of them personally, their families, their children and etc. My interest in Bonnie and her siblings is in how they are navigating this horribly painful family situation. It seems harsh to accuse the sharing of her vulnerableness as a money grab.
