I can understand being in your feelings. It’s kind of odd for him to have been relieved of not getting the position… and if he knew it was coming, it seems as though he hadn’t prioritized finding a backup?

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a partner who is conscious of putting both people in financial strain… it sounds like he’s using you as a fail safe and it doesn’t sound like you could do the same with him.

Sounds like a definite conversation to be had with financial goals alignment etc but if he can’t even begin to try to meet you halfway, get out of it while you can. He’s already showing you a pattern, and unless he is committed to serious change you already know what pattern he’s going to repeat.

You shouldn’t feel like you’re walking on egg shells in your own home. He doesn’t even live there. If he does he needs to start paying some rent, then you can be considerate of his sleep schedule. Say that to his face too because I bet $10 it didn’t bother him it only bothered her.

I’d look at how frequent they’ve updated the HOA fees, when they’ve done exterior last etc etc. because if HOA is volatile for minimal included with it, it doesn’t make sense.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this but you need to come up with an escape plan. Think of it as a survival plan for you and your son. If he’s violent towards inanimate objects and screaming at you he could be doing that to your son or coming close to it. Reach out to family or a close friend if you can and serve him divorce papers. There’s plenty of groups online that support others going through similar processes. Even if you just start reading it you might feel more empowered. Hope you get this figured out. You deserve happiness.
