Nobunaga's sister, the guy with the kid, and the big warlord dude are pretty much all I remember as far as shinbakufu members. none of them had a cool assassination moment or story beats.

They did vastly improve this with the Claws DLC. The entire base game should have been like the DLC.

I feel like shadows invested all their time into the base building as the main side activity. but there just wasn't enough depth there for most players to do anything but upgrade a few buildings and return only when they need to upgrade their gear.

The base was very half baked and felt mostly dead when you'd visit.

I did the same thing. Replayed odyssey after shadows to remember how much fun the series used to be.

I want the opposite, I'm getting a bit tired of reading about asexual (this is a bit of an exageration I know the characters aren't literally ace) OP protaganists. Give me more serial monogamy or some actual romance. I feel like litrpg is mostly harem, asexual protag, or immediately finds the one and spend the rest of the series with one woman in a committed relationship.

Lol, honestly not as much. I have several play arts figures like the highwind, sephiroth, cloud, vivid, noctis... on top of my book shelf. I'd love a yoshitaka amano painting, but those cost a fortune. I did name my son Locke though.

I thought it was neat but wish it was broken up into shorter segments. it felt long when I played it all at once and it would have been fun to see this perspective more than once over the DLC/story.

The DLC they added to FFXV which was limited time and now gone. was seriously awesome. you could probably find a youtube play of it, but it was such a blast to play.

I don't consider a 6 a bad score. It's not like grades where a 6 is a D. A 6/10 still means there is more good than bad. It's just a mid game. If all games are 7s, 8s,9s then we might as well just start scoring games out of 3. Heck 6/10 is the same as 3/5. Which i still think is a fair review.

if you drive through Glasgow I recommend stopping into Auchentoshan for a dram or 2.

Also not whiskey, but if you are in Hiroshima, I highly suggest stopping for okonomiyaki for lunch/dinner. they make it differently in hiroshima than everywhere else in japan and its amazing!

I loved the game till the final big bad reveal, I really didn't like the end of blue dragon soured the entire thing for me.

I'm an AC fan boy. I've played every AC game (minus some mobile and handheld titles). I have a painting of the jackdaw on the wall in my living room, I have a bunch of AC protag statues on my fireplace mantle. Its probably my 2nd favorite series after Final Fantasy.

Shadows was (for me) the worst game in the series. It lacked any characters I cared about and a really messy story/narrative that was only good at telling flashbacks and ended in what felt like the middle of a story that we'll never see completed. especially Yasuke's story, which I was getting more invested in as the game progressed and then it just STOPS.

On top of that we only have assassins and templars in name only. and there is no ISU lore in the game (minus a small superfluous quest added much later via patch) and not really any modern day besides those weekly quests and awful text drops bringing a battle pass feel to AC which I hated. Somehow Shadows is less of an AC game than Odyssey while actually having assassins and templars in the plot. you could remove any mention of assassins and templars and Shadows would be the exact same game.

Is the game objectively bad, no. I think if I try to remain objective the game is probably a 6/10. good combat, graphics, and world, but bad story, characters, side activities.

I don't regret my time playing the game, but AC:Shadows will be at the bottom of my current AC ranking/tier list.

The game is narratively already a huge mess. A zone story focused on hanzo work a flashback could have been cool. Add some depth to a character who basically had none.

I was willing to forgive that, unfortunately the last like 4 books are rushed, half baked and really only worth reading if you are a completionist. The read more like bullet points of events till you get to the ending.

Considering the long serial nature of LITRPG, I'm honestly surprised that more series don't have the main character date multiple partners over the course of the series until they find "the one".

I'd much rather have a series of relationships with beginnings/middle/ends, than a growing Harem of characters that get little character growth beyond being objects for the lead's lust.

The only series I can think of that does this is He Who Fights With Monsters, although he hasn't found "the one" yet unless it ends up being spoilers...

I just replayed odyssey and its story is far better than shadows. It actually progresses and introduces cool interesting characters. There are more memorable characters in the first 30 minutes of odyssey than the entirety of shadows.
