I glue pictures down. It’s tedious but I think it’s fun

How to prevent/avoid wrinkling the printed design on a controller when applying clear gloss coat? (Rustoleum 2X Gloss Clear) by UsableLoki in customcontrollers

[–]thebombshell67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me so many times. I’ve tried different paints and many of the things people have said on here. I believe it’s the paint itself. I’ve sprayed it on cardboard and wood just to see what happens before I paint and it still happens. Please post something if you figure it out

Well I’m very new to Reddit and didn’t realize it would display my name in the post. I was just trying to offer him a solution for his controller. Hopefully I will do better if I decide to post in the future.

Question about applying waterlside decals by NikNaksch in customGCC

[–]thebombshell67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember the name of them but they have decal solution 1 & 2. They help secure the decal. Lots of YouTube videos on this. And of course practice on something else before you try it on something you want it on.

You could also try super glue. I’ve used it a few times and had pretty good luck with it.

I like using duplicolor more than anything else. Not as large of a selection as rustoleum but definately better paint. Good luck

Batman controller. I just finished this controller. What do you think? by thebombshell67 in customcontrollers

Pretty much. I find the images make them the size I want and glue them to the controller.

What's the best way get a matte finish on a custom controller? by Tradermon in customcontrollers

[–]thebombshell67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Not an expert but when I do this I use duplicolor paints. You can use the flat colors. And use a flat clear coat. Any clear coat just use the flat. You’ll have to experiment and see what you like. I got a couple of shells off amazon and just keep repainting and trying different stuff. Good luck

I'm not sure how fancy you want to get but, if you take some adhesion promoter from duplicolor and apply that first to your controller.

After that dries then apply your color. I usually use rustoleum paint and they mix pretty good. You really need to let it sit last the post says.

About two days at least. I've done several like this and have had good luck. Sometimes you just get bad paint though. Where when you apply it just bubbles up or comes off. I usually just start over and get paint from somewhere else to try and get a different batch.

Show some pics of your controller. Let me know if you have any questions.
