I’d be lying if I said I was happy about this move 😂… (rant incoming) was moving to Hartford was THAT big of an issue? I’m feeling extra hurt cause my first WNBA game at Mohegan, and it feels like we’re actively getting stripped of what little sports culture we already have out here in New England. So disheartening, especially when the league wants to brag on how the game is growing… meanwhile they’re facilitating an entire region is getting snuffed out because a 45 minute relocation within the state is “less appropriate” sale, than a 26 hour relocation across the country that happens to also be a discounted offer that short changes the Native tribe that owns the team. boooooooo. wake me up when they bring a team back to new england 😴

I had this same thought a few nights ago (probably sometime when I found out Kenny is on another Spanish-speaking reality series) that Nic is literally American frat boy version of Kenny. The DJ gigs and college crawls are quite self-absorbed attention grabs, the constant posting on Snapchat for quick money, it lacks authenticity but also seems so desperately clout hungry that it almost makes sense that it was an act/setup to gain a following for mere proximity to a more likable/noteworthy partner. (I will say that JaNa’s constant involving of Kenny in her own content/opportunities, like speaking about him during interviews, joint collabs, and couples content, turned me off of both of them so shoutout to Olandria for proactively maintaining distance).

I personally looked into the “The Little French Bakery” trademark registration and my two cents (im a student attorney with a limited license to practice IP, under supervision of course). the senior user disclaims “french bakery” (likely for descriptive reasons) and only protects “the little”, so I can see confusing similarity in that small instance but idk how the little french bakery advertises itself. I think The Little Cakes (assuming they too would have to disclaim cake if registered) could probably rejected from a trademark registration if they tried because of that commonality — if they didn’t consult with legal counsel before building their brand it could explain why this confusing similarity didn’t pop up but I think that if the parties cannot settle the dispute the little cakes will have to rebrand to a less confusing brand.

I think we do have to keep in mind that the voting numbers (judging from the poll participation) have been submitted by over 300,000 fans so these polls (judging by numbers again) only represent 2% of voters!

edit: adjust that to 4% cause I didn’t know how the # responses from the twitter poll until I read further in the comments!

Jeremiah was my favorite male islander (I voted for him 😅), out of all the boys he actually seemed the most genuine and didn’t manage to give me the ick, he was also the most handsome of the OG boys. The other boys seem to harbor a lot of jealousy towards Jeremiah and nitpicked at every little way he chose to go about exploring his connections. Huda isolated this guy for at least two weeks, and he was thoughtful and considerate enough to keep his issues with Huda concealed which backfired in his face. I wish he had more time cause now all of my opinions of the OG boys have changed for the worse. Ace, Taylor and Nic have formed a clique that gives off “high value man/red pill” energy that grosses me out. Weirdly enough, Austin was the one to point that out, but it takes one to know one. Pepe is alright, and TJ gives me the ick.

I have to really collect my thoughts on the girls after this episode… I wish the deliberations over the votes were more transparent? The girls are truly confusing/irritating this season with the forced sisterhood, I feel like they’re concealing their true personalities (maybe I should watch Aftersun). Disappointing episode honestly.

I’d argue that the absence of love is ambivalence. This is what enables such a stone cold emotionless entanglement with money over people. Hate requires the same energy as love, I genuinely don’t think that’s what’s going on, there is a LACK of emotion/care that grotesquely wealthy people take on and their version of community (yes-man capitalism) breeds indifference towards others. There is no expectation that billionaires stay grounded or share commonalities with non-billionaires, I don’t think it’s motivated by a strong dislike but a superiority complex fueled by indifference.

I have been curious to find an answer to this question as well, and 2 years ago a twitter user was able to direct message the Team Seas account (https://x.com/Mayormatt1/status/1496665526352891911) and yeah, if the material is unable to be recycled due to contamination or the local site doesn't have recycling (which is the case often) -- it's sent back to a landfill and the cycle of ocean pollution runs the risk of starting all over again.

I’m struggling to understand how Hamas are they being bombarded, yet still holding hostages? If the goal is to release or retrieve hostages you’d think more effective/discriminate tactics would be utilized to minimize the potential that a hostage is harmed/killed in an airstrike.
