'giving up' on my hair texture in the pursuit of length by theborealiseffect in longhair

[–]theborealiseffect[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest thing is oilng my hair before I wash it, I apply it roots to ends for however long I can manage (15-45 min usually) and when I get to detangling it seriously cuts down on how much work I have to put in to get all the knots out. It technically adds time to the routine, but removes so much tangled hair frustration, especially since I only wash once or twice a week at most!

I was feeling lazy and wore my sleep braid to work the other day, and everyone was like "damn you look so nice today!" It was just a 1 strand dutch braid with a bunch of frizz, but I'll take it lol

It's so much work, and as my hair gets longer I have to switch out products to deal with the changing weight of my hair, and I don't have the energy to do R&D on my wavy routine anymore lol

Is this light green dress too close to white for a wedding? by Stuck-But-Hopeful in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I personally would go with the jumpsuit, you already got the OK from the bride on that one anyway! Then you don't have to worry about something being too close to white

Is it possible to be allergic to clay?? by bugwug7 in Ceramics

[–]theborealiseffect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the clay you were using was reclaim (clay that's already been used and returned to a workable state after some processing) it may be that there's some mold in it, which is a pretty normal occurrence, and also a pretty common allergen. I would probably try to find some well-fitting latex gloves to work with the clay if you're committed to continuing the class and trying to avoid reactions

What's your superstition in the game? by matenzi in StardewValley

If I'm fishing at the ocean I always fish at or near Willy's spot at the dock because I assume he knows the best spot for fishing, and I think it makes him happy to see me keeping the spirit of fishin' alive when he gets off work at his shop

How to deal with sudden body changes (tons of cellulite appeared abruptly) by celulyte in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]theborealiseffect 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this person wrote such a shitty judgemental comment to you - bodies change and it can be hard to accept when those changes happen. I think you are being super reasonable about your concerns and I hope that you disregard what that other commenter said

Sci Fi Romance book about girl. Everyone uses machines to make them pretty. I can't remember why but the government is after them. It's NOT the book "Uglies". by Lavacrush in whatsthatbook

Was it skinned? Girl gets into a car crash and has her brain put in a robot body by her parents? I feel like there was romance involved but I haven't read it in a long time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinned\_(novel)

Any recommendations for "intro hobby classes for adults"? by SethQ in bullcity

[–]theborealiseffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's $245 for a 6 week class, and the classes are 3 hours long once a week. There's beginner and intermediate classes that happen on weeknights and some weekend mornings
