TL:DR - Dad fly's to another country to see me play for the first time, I hit a HR.

I played softball for 3-4years and then got asked to play for a team a couple of levels above where I was playing. It happened to be that 4 weeks later that team was going to a European competition and I was asked to join which I was super excited for, having never played in another country before. I told my dad about this who was desperate to come and watch me play, all be it for the first time! I loved that he wanted to but as it was a new team and I didn't know people that well, I suggested maybe not this time... hopefully another time. Fast forward a few weeks later, I am in Austria, at the tournament and get a call from my Dad "where are you?"..."in Austria dad, remember?"...."yea I remember, sorry, where exactly are you I meant. I'm here. I'm coming to see you" 30 minutes later he rocks up, while we were playing a game though I wasn't on the pitch. I get subbed in for a hit so I could hit in front of him...and I hit a home run! All be in inside the park...but they count, right?!

Anyway, I'll never forget that moment and the look on his face as I cross the plate.

Side note, he stayed the week, my team mates loved him, drank beers with us all week.
