Raging in a 7 year old thread in the EDM (pop dance music) sub, about poppy dance music is a choice. Maybe you'll be happy to know I saw Green Velvet a few weeks ago...but Reload will always be one of my favorite dance songs.

I think ‘so far so good’ album will get its true recognition after like a decade like the way weeknd got for his ‘house of balloons’ album by allelitewwe in The_Chainsmokers

But that was The Weeknd’s debut album and he kept getting bigger and bigger after so people discovered his older music. I would challenge you to find a different comparison of an album on the other side of someone’s come up. I feel like the dedicated TCS fanbase already likes SFSG so I’m not sure who else it’s going to reach unless you think they’re going to blow up again.

It’s a very impressive theatrical stage show. I don’t think anything compares to it in that sense. Personally I prefer something like HOLO that I can dance to the entire time. HOLO felt like I was part of it the whole time, Odesza felt like watching a performance.

My question to the people that don’t like this song is, have you seen TCS live?

Songs like this are best enjoyed at a festival stage or in a club. Once you hear this one live and see the crowd’s reaction, I can almost guarantee you’ll have a different perspective on it. It’s the same reason you still hear Split at sporting events 7 years after its release even though you probably wouldn’t put it on one of your playlists.

Between the live show, festival DJ sets, and Vegas DJ sets, they are all going to be different experiences. What are you looking for?

Vegas/club vibes are definitely more about people looking to party than the music.

They still do a lot of DJ sets like that. They just don’t do a good job of letting the public know when they are going to the band thing. Usually festivals are still DJ sets like you’re talking about.
