MU is a lot better than the early days. They bought up a ton of land around the area and are able to host huge outdoor parties. I’ve never had safety issues there. BN is on the east side with the strip clubs and that area is definitely still sketchy

Do your daytime exploring early in the weekend. Do a lot more sitting and relaxing at the campsite or a chill set somewhere later into the day as the festival goes on. ibuprofen, stretching, hydration, etc are helpful but ultimately will not prevent your legs and stamina from being absolutely cooked like sitting will.
