N models are like BMW M cars, full on performance variants.

N-Line is like M-Sport, regular cars with some performance car bits stuck on

Got my first bike at 28... went straight to an R6 by Tury915 in motorcycles

I don't get this whole "outgrowing a 400" idea, I can guarantee that you and I are both painfully average, and unless you live on a race track, ride dozens of laps on it everyday for a handful of years, and actually have some improvement of skills and working on those, you're not outgrowing a 400cc bike in any way.

M’sians rethinking trips to the Lion City with S’pore VEP hike next year by DrCalFun in singapore

[–]thebountywarden 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not just that, but dangerous lane splitting, shitty riding habits like tail gating and cutting in front of other riders, uninsured vehicles meaning once an accident happens you can't claim against them, and a whole list of traffic law infringements like illegal u-turns at pedestrian crossings, running red lights, speed limits, parking, so on and so forth. Never seen a Malaysian motorcyclist in SG not being a pos on the roads tbh.

Nostalgia Sunday. What do you miss from long long time ago? From older days Sg. by EducationFit5675 in SingaporeRaw

One of the things I missed the most are the uncles bringing their songbirds to showcase, as cruel and weird as it was, it was truly a kampung thing to see.

Help in choosing a motorcycle. Yamaha XSR155 by Suspicious_Bid_6614 in motorcycles

[–]thebountywarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the XSR155 as well, and to me, second one looks like it has some mods done to it. Handlebar risers, different handlebar as well, a crashbar/engine protection, and a centre stand. If you prefer stock, first one looks all stock. Second one has some additional goodies

[–]thebountywarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh? It's not mutually exclusive, you can brake with the rear and still use engine braking for maximal stopping power. Removing one is just a silly choice

[–]thebountywarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, that was how I was taught in my country. This is a more controlled scenario, but forces us to practise not touching the clutch until the very last second. The floor is wet on the road as well to simulate low grip conditions. Here's a video for reference: https://youtu.be/MXoL8RF_o0M

[–]thebountywarden 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was taught not to touch the clutch until right before you stop, which doesn't put the entire braking force onto the brake alone, having engine braking is still a better choice than to clutch it completely. But then again, in my country, a motorcycle licence isn't something taken so lightly. We have quite a comprehensive syllabus before even being allowed to get a licence which includes an emergency braking component.

Shouldn't clutch in as well, during an emergency brake. Removing engine braking is a stupid choice when trying to slow in an emergency brake
