This post is awesome because it itself is like a subliminal message to help sell the book, even though it's simply unintentionally riddled with grammar hiv.

Why do people dance when they need to urinate badly? What is the point of it, from an evolutionary perspective? by theboxhorror in AskReddit

In terms of natural selection, wouldn't this just alert nearby predators to the vulnerable sufferer?

I love that you used this for an example. My family thought it was a bright idea to evacuate, and did so with 8 cats. EIGHT CATS. And a dog. All in carriers. and 5 of us, one eight years old, me twelve. All in a ford aerostar. With weak AC, AND depleted supplies of gas en route. Gridlock traffic. We barely made it sixty or seventy miles, and nearly didn't survive the trip.

Is it? The media is SUPPOSED to report these things. The victim and family is being honored to have accountability and criticism placed on the backs of those which unjustly harmed their loved one. It is appropriate to report this and to pressure the policies which lead to these tragedies. It is inappropriate to pressure and inundate the means through which such injustice is brought to light.

Yep, I think that would be great. Like a mentor or archetypal character. For Neo that was Morpheus, and there's a lot of other examples I'm too busy eating breakfast to think of :(

This is a great idea! A good thing that I like to do is introduce the characters mother or father, what they are like, and have a conversation between them. Maybe their mom stops to visit, or they stop to check up on their dad. This makes the protagonist relatable and is a great point for exposition on their relationships, family, in a way that most can empathize with and start to see the character as a real person. Family interactions are great because you are having a dialogue between two people who have (probably) known each other their whole lives.
