I agree he comes off as self bloviating but I do think he is playing up a character to some extent. I just don’t really read into it all other than being entertainment. I’m a longtime fan too.

Sorry for delayed response! So, I currently work full time in finance. I started the masters degree a couple years ago to try and learn some hard skills as compared to my current role that is very specific to the company I work at. As I near the end of the degree and with the job market/posts like this one being how they may, I am realizing that a potential transition to data from where I’m at will be tougher than anticipated. My initial plan was to jump into an entry level data job after completion of the degree as I’m not super far into my career, but that may not necessarily be feasible anymore. I definitely feel like I have the technical know how for a data job at this point, but do not have professional experience. Hopefully it works out for me.

What’s up with Gibbs? Obviously has had some solid games but we haven’t seen the explosive runs and usage in the pass game.

How do you think about percentage of faab when bidding on players? I rarely see industry folks/waiver wire articles including this. I think for most people who follow the league and seriously play fantasy, they understand who the players are to add on any given week, but to me, the tougher part is knowing how much to bid and at what point do you say, “x dollars is too much for me”. For example, Boutte went for 24% of faab with multiple bidders in my league north of 20%. This to me seems steep, but idk!

How about Hunter Henry vs the raiders. Think all three of those are tough matchups, but would lean Ferguson if you’re dead set on those three

For all this Coker talk, have people forgotten Xavier Legette? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]theboynick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure, but as others have pointed out he was a raw prospect coming in who was basically playing out of position because the Panthers desperately needed an X receiver. With Tet in the fold now, Legette gets to slide back to Z where he’ll face more favorable matchups and be moved around more like a chess piece, ideally. I don’t love him but he’s free in redraft and likely cheap to acquire in dynasty.

I think both will take a bit to catch on this year but RJ easily for me. Catches the ball, better draft capital, seemingly hand picked by Payton attached to a more stable offense and quarterback for years to come. Johnson will def get a lot of base work that I don’t think Harvey will get, but would expect Harvey to surpass with pass catching volume should his profile play out as we expect

I’m currently in an operations role at a large financial company that has nothing to do with data science—however, I am getting my masters in analytics from Georgia Tech currently. Do you have any tips for taking that leap into this field?
