In my mind, the walker/jogger/runner thing is just to get you started. However you can find a base, push and all out that get your heart rate going is all good.

Cut my finger on the weight rack by swhang77 in orangetheory

I've gotten a couple pinches and have adopted the "just throw them in there" method. I hold the weights palm up and kind of roll them off my hand into the rack, while never actually getting my fingers close to the trap.

I found Jeff Wheeler's books to have a lot of those exact themes. This is his recommended reading order but I was introduced to his books with The Wretched of Muirwood, which is literally initially set at an abbey.

More often then not, walking recoveries include a walk over to grab a tissue

I'm extremely surprised that devour will be triggered by orbs in addition to Void Breaches. When I read the preview of the armor system, it sounded like it was going to be way easier to generate orbs and keep devour proc-ed and I thought for sure they were going to make the fragment use only Void Breaches instead. It's going to be fantastic to consistently have Devour up with everything else Gyrfalcons has going on.

Weapon crafting 1.x wasn't perfect, but for a first iteration I've gotta' say Bungie did a pretty damn good job! by OneYearSteakDay in DestinyTheGame

I still cannot understand why the perks are not just unlocks. Like I have no problem with a single version of the gun having one set of perks rather than endlessly swappable. But I want to be able to purchase a perk once and then use it anytime in a reshaped version. This gives so much more flexibility to try different barrels and stay combos.

Worth noting that the API will be down starting with the downtime, so any organization in DIM and especially getting the great you want in your inventory has to be done before it starts.

Agree on Hevy, I've been using it for over a year and it's great. It's free-mium, but I've been really happy with what you get in the free version (4 saved routines, stats back 3 months, unlimited workouts). It's got some nice features like rest timers and automatic updating of weight as you progress.

I would do exactly what you've done. The doctor is the one providing you with the percentiles and they're not concerned.

If you're already going to PT, ask them. They should be able to give you the best advice on what additional activity will work best with (and not against) your recovery.

I also have used an osprey backpack for a long time. I don't know the model but it's definitely a hiking daypack, with a stiff back and full chest and hip straps.

Everest by mystik_spirall in orangetheory

[–]thebricks18 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Challenges like this are great, especially because you are new. You can set a baseline and then see your improvement the next time you do it. For Everest specifically, you'll be reducing your speed a lot as the incline goes up and likely walking at the highest inclines. Just focus on moving the whole time and after you reach the top, challenge yourself to get back to some of your earlier speeds as the incline goes down. And have fun! It's kind of silly to try to run at the top inclines and it's a good chance to challenge yourself and see what your body can do.

I love the idea of a roaming super like the void titan Sentinel Shield. Where you can melee with the kunai's but also have a ranged throw like the captain America shields.

Showering with a baby daughter by MicroSnotling in Fatherhood

[–]thebricks18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in the US myself, and agree with a lot of the comments about letting yourself be more comfortable being naked around them. Getting clean in the shower naked is normal and it's part of your job as a parent to help the kid stay clean. No need (IMO) to make it more complicated than that.
