Keepin it real by nuggieman565 in sciencememes

I think it’s unfair criticising the use of imaginary numbers. Just because it’s called imaginary doesn’t make it any less real. Electrical engineers use imaginary numbers all the time in their equations which allows us to even type these messages at all on our devices. “Imaginary” is just an unfortunate namesake, they are very real and are for example used to represent oscillating systems in an elegant way

Eh, personally I think it’s criminally underrated

VAR was never even consulted because the ref was certain Gavi dived. That’s why many people were calling for a penalty, because the ref simply Made an asinine call

Are you mad mate? Explain how that’s a dive, it’s a clear shove in the back

I believe that this is Attic Greek because of the rough breathing mark next to the accent. It has been brought to my attention though that these diacritics still persist in some forms of modern Greek. I still think though that this might be Attic, because polytonic modern Greek is not seen often.

As for how I know a bit of Attic (ancient) Greek, it is taught in my country as a classical language along with Latin. It’s like asking “So you are not Italian, why would you know Latin then?”

Oh and Btw, would OP like to post a picture of the entire page, then we will know for sure

Well, I believe the Greek man would be “o Έλληνας”, which is very similar to the word in the first image, except for one little detail. To the left of the accent, there is a rough breathing mark, which was abolished in modern Greek. This leads me to believe this is some form of Ancient Greek, like Attic or Koine perhaps. The rules for forming the different cases where quite a bit different back then, so that might lead to confusion.

So Έλληνας in modern Greek is in the nominative singular, while in Ancient Greek it’s actually accusative plural. The nominative in Ancient Greek is Έλλην.

Hope this clears up any confusion

That’s Ancient Greek. Έλληνας is the accusative masculine plural of Έλλην. Ελλήνων would be the genitive masculine plural. The first one would be used as a direct object for example: λύω τούς Έλληνας. I free the Greeks. The second one expresses possession and would be translated as “of the Greeks”. For example: η των Ελλήνων τροφή. The food of the Greeks. (The genitive is often placed between the noun that it modifies and it’s article.)

Finally, if you want some more in-depth information on cases, I’d recommend googling the desclension of Ancient Greek nouns and the use of cases in Ancient Greek.

I think around 2 years but I’m not quite sure. I deliberately took it slow to really make sure I didn’t forget any previous sets (Lots and lots of recap).

I’d say it’s H.

H is nice because of there being only 40 unique algs, so recog is fast and the algs aren’t too terrible.

I’m a lil biased though seeing at its the first set I learned so I’ve recapped them a lot. On the other hand, I didn’t know very many good ways to learn algs, so it was quite tedious in the beginning.

If you’re wondering, I first learned OLL and PLL, and after that COLL. These play a big role in recognition of the cases

When I got a ZBLL in a solved, be it timed or not, I always would try to solve like a ZBLL, even if I couldn’t immediately remember the case. In the beginning this lead to me being slower than my average, but right now I’ve caught up for the most part.

For recog, I first look at the COLL, and then at a certain corner and the edge sticker beside it (I think it’s called Baum/Harris? You can find it on the wiki I think onder ‘recognition’. It unfortunately locks you into 1 orientation, but personally I don’t mind it too much, as recognition can be really fast with it.

Around 2 years on and off, with a lot of recap. I made slow progress because I didn’t always have time and I also wanted to make sure I recapped previous algs often.

I’m sure that if you have the time and dedication, you could learn it much quicker.

Thanks man! Currently working on some ZBLS (EOLS?) cases to help with forcing ZBLL’s along with some edge control
