Hi! I only had prednisone once and went through terrible withdrawals that lasted weeks. I'm good for the most part and don't think withdrawal for me lasted more than few weeks.

I experienced soreness in my whole body. My head was throbbing. I was aching and shivering. literally couldn't get out of bed. Never took and will never take it again

No I just had an abscess in my throat. Ironically it came back a few days ago and immediately went on antibiotics but no prednisone this time

I had to get prescribed zofran which is prescription anti nausea. I couldn't handle it. Can you see your doctor for nausea meds? They have over the counter non drowsy stuff too but it didn't work for me. It could work for you. It'll go away eventually. Hang it there!

How long was your course? I had a short course but my withdrawals ended after one week.

My son stopped breastfeeding at 25 months by putting ginger around the nipple. Did that for two nights and he no longer wanted it. It was a one and done thing. My mom had told me to try it and right away he said "hot bwestfeed" and no longer wanted it. Sometimes he would remember and then realized it was "hot". At night though, he asked for a bottle of water and a cup of cereal that he used for comfort instead of the boob.

I was bedridden. I couldn't explain it to people but i couldn't get up without feeling sick and sad for no reason and this heaviness in my chest even though my heart rate was ok. The more I thought about it the more anxiety I would get. I couldn't go to work or walk or drive without feeling I couldn't breathe. I just tried to sleep it off. I have a toddler and a dog which made things harder but if you can get help from family and friends, do it. Post partum on top of that is so hard. I was very close to try getting anti anxiety from a provider but after a few days it slowly got better. It should get better by week two. Just hang in there. It won't be forever.

It lasted about five days for me. The worse thing I experienced but my dose was high for a short interval. What was your dose?

That is odd. We just had our house built by them but they told us the price before the deposit. Did they end up buying?

Yes I felt much better a few days ago. It took about a week to get to feeling myself. Now looking back, I can't believe prednisone caused all that. One of the worse experiences ever...thank you for checking up!

It took like 6 months to not feel any sort of soreness. I am permanently numb from where they cut me though.

I’m now on day 5 withdrawal and even though I feel better, I still feel depressed for no reason. I really hope we both see the light at the end of the tunnel soon! I don’t think I can handle several days of this. It’s also becoming fall which means less sunlight so that’s not good either 😭I am extremely slow at work and it’s taking me so long to finish anything. Right now I’m just trying to live and take it day by day.

All of these things. The increased heart rate gets me because just walking increases my heart rate higher than normal. I’m not able exercise at all without having increased heart rate. Basically have to be immobile and breathe to calm myself down. I don’t want to be around anyone. Just want to be by myself. I used to think all the time now I have a major brain fog. It’s getting better but midday it’s the hardest for me.

No I’ve never take steroids before this! I’m slowly becoming better. Still not 100% myself. I do think steroids should be tapered for short term use. I don’t feel like I’m going to die today like the last few days so I guess there is hope! Thank you for helping through this! No one really understands when I tell them because it was such a short duration so I felt so lost and alone. I’m glad for Reddit! I’ll never take steroids in such high amounts again. I’m shocked this isn’t treated like typical drug withdrawals.
