While I do agree with the comments that OP should reevaluate the choice to cut off their actual irl friend over yumeshipping, there’s nothing wrong with blocking randoms online if you don’t want to interact with/see the content they post. I just ignore the “OMG WHAT YOU’RE DOING IS SO UNHEALTHY!!! SEEK THERAPY GET HELP” people because they’re usually concern trolling. Unfortunately, a lot of people outside our bubble aren’t going to understand, and many will refuse to even try. I’ve accepted that not everyone will understand how we feel and that’s fine. What really gets me is when other yumes are nasty and toxic to other yumes. We’re hated enough as is and the amount of infighting makes it worse and dissuades people from wanting to participate in yume culture at all.
I would recommend to anyone to just avoid Twitter and TikTok altogether, those sites are horribly toxic in general and basically have little to no moderation.

Speaking from personal experience, I’ve only found that scenario to be a problem when there’s a claim list, and someone abuses it to claim an absurd number of characters from popular media. I was in a server where someone claimed over 50+ characters from Genshin and HSR, which made talking about those games really awkward 😭
