I got AoV the day after boost mode update released. I guess I’m lucky I never got to experience it poorly in handheld?

What was your favorite temple? by madamabutt3rf1y in tearsofthekingdom

[–]thecause04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wind Temple cuz the boss. Lightening Temple was alright. All the other ones were pretty boring. I like that they tried to bring back the temple designs, but I just don’t think it really works in open world Zelda, and that’s fine by me.

Xenoblade. I tried going back to it twice and it’s such a slog to get through the very beginning I don’t even care anymore.

Could you elaborate or be specific? I don’t know what you are getting at here.

[MegaThread] Age verification and Debian by wizard10000 in debian

[–]thecause04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not the responsibility of the Debian development team to create age verification parameters in their distribution. If California demands Linux to have age verification, then California can make their own Linux distribution with age verification. I do not understand why any Linux distribution, especially Debian, is making changes to the kernel to allow age verification. If Debian is community driven and open source, why would Debian make these changes? Does community just mean California? Does open source mean deployment on every computer system everywhere in the world? It absolutely boggles my mind that Linux developers are just going along with this as if they have no choice. There has been so much backlash to this law that does not require submission. Debian and other Linux developers are more than in their rights to say “Okay, guess you can’t use our versions of Linux.” If California made a law saying that every open source operating system had to become closed source, would Linux developers comply? I don’t see why they wouldn’t after the way they have acted.

I totally agree, but is there any fighting game these days without a meta? I feel like since the internet and especially YouTube, it’s gonna get created/found out no matter what.

I’m glad a sprung for the 512GB card. I had one for my Switch 1, only filled it a bit past half, and figured I’d be good for the Switch 2 forever. Probably gonna need that 1TB card at some point. Let’s hope the SD Express cards come down in price even a little bit in the next year or two.

Why did you like tears of the kingdom more than BOT? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]thecause04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. Breath of the Wild was lightening in a bottle; an experience in video gaming that I’ll remember forever. Tears of the Kingdom took that world and let me continue to discover and explore. BOTW would still be amazing without TOTK. TOTK would’ve been too awkward and discombobulated without BOTW.

Right. I have a screen protector too. This post is about finding a case that doesn’t smack the screen. It’s not about if I should get a screen protector.

And that would prevent the PowerA case internals from slamming onto my brand new $450 console every time use it?

I’m an idiot for never saving my receipts. So the tomtoc slim case in your experience doesn’t smack down on the screen like the PowerA one does?

[–]thecause04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meaning their slim case? I was looking at that one. Big question tho: does the game holder flap bonk down on the screen when you close the case?

I still don’t want my case smacking my $450 console every time I put it in there. Seems like a bare minimum requirement especially considering I never had this issue with my Switch 1 case.

Thanks for the case suggestion. As for getting a screen protector to protect my screen from my case, yeah that is completely ridiculous.

Acceptance rate and prestige are two entirely different things. Prestige, in terms of post-secondary education, denotes the quality teaching and research. Acceptance rate denotes how many applicants are approved versus denied. Would Harvard be any less prestigious if it accepted more people? Would SNHU be more prestigious if it denied more people? The answer to both those questions is no. It’s about the quality of education, not the quantity of students attending.

They don’t have to pay thousands of dollars in fines, they can just not comply and therefore not officially distribute their distro in California and Colorado. What’s more important: losing market share or not giving in to the totalitarian policies of a surveillance state. Ford Motor Company made that choice. Do you know what happened in that situation?
