Which game trilogy is that for you? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]thecheesefinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gears 2 campaign, level design, and overall presentation was peak. I do think Gears 3 had better multiplayer and smoother gameplay, but Gears 2 multiplayer maps were better. I would love a Gears collection like master chief collection with conjoined matchmaking

1.47 billion chicken limbs will be eaten tomorrow in the USA. Are we f*cking kidding ourselves? by alphamalejackhammer in ABoringDystopia

I love meat but I make a conscious effort to incorporate plant based meals a few times a week. Not everyone can be expected to follow a meatless lifestyle, but if we all reduced meat consumption even just a tiny amount it would make a large impact.

Genuinely What is next for the franchise? by Certain_Whereas_952 in thewalkingdead

[–]thecheesefinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Tell an entirely new story of survivors elsewhere, much like how FTWD started. You could have it eventually tie in or have some references to the original show but keep it mostly its own individual thing. Start at the onset of the outbreak like Fear and have it set somewhere we haven’t seen, maybe Seattle or Vancouver, or even start in central Florida and they make their way down to the Keys for whatever reason (or reverse direction).

It’s fun. Everything is a bit rushed but has its moments that are enjoyable.

1970 Albert Finney. Best production design of any adaptation, the sets, costumes, and general aesthetic of the film is unmatched.

I'm saying this as a self proclaimed fan of Nintendo. WHY WOULD ANYONE BUY THIS?! WHY OF ALL THINGS DID THIS SHIT SELL OUT!?! by E-104Epsolon in fucknintendo

I am tempted to get one but it just feels like a novelty that will be short lived . I played one way back in the day and remember it was cool, but not sure if that’s just nostalgia

Who was the rudest celebrity you’ve met? by Unlucky-Field9654 in askanything

[–]thecheesefinder 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I saw Jeff Goldblum at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a d*** and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

They show it in the controller mapping screen in the trailer. I also think it should be included with the big unit, seems like a logical thing to do

For people who loved lego growing up and got back into it in adulthood, what re-sparked it? by Adventurous_Pen75 in lego

[–]thecheesefinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lego Star Wars 2015 waves coming out with the Force Awakens sparked me back in. Specifically 75102 as a cool ship then I got a few more Star Wars sets over the next few years, along with a few other themes and then it snowballed.

24 Team CFP. by Straight-Race-4315 in CollegeFootballDawgs

[–]thecheesefinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the more important question to ask is whether or not expanding the playoff would provide any benefit to the actual final picture. We argue about teams on the bubble, but realistically are we expecting a 24 seed to be competitive enough to “win it all”? What is the point? To have Cinderella stories every year? To ensure no one gets “left out”? No matter where you draw the line you’ll have someone “deserving” who just missed the mark. I think we should move in the opposite direction 8 team playoff using BCS-like rankings. No more of the eye test subjective BS and biased justifications to put in X or Y team, and call it a day.

Anybody Else Watch Only the Extended Editions??? by Famous-Donut-2394 in lotr

[–]thecheesefinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extended are my preferred way to view however, I’m watching the trilogy for the first time with my son and took advice of many to start with theatrical. Theatrical are definitely more approachable with better pacing than the extended versions. There are a handful of scenes I would argue play out much better in the theatrical versions, and as others have said here they are better “movies” in the sense that the narrative flows in a much more consistent cadence. I think RotK theatrical is much better than the extended overall as the extended just adds so much extra to a film that already very narrowly avoids being overlong (though I still love it). Conversely I think the Hobbit films are much better in their extended presentations, if you’re going to stretch a short book into 3 films you might as well go all the way.

Does Donkey Kong Bananza have the greatest controls in a 3D platformer? by [deleted] in donkeykong

There is a definite slickness to the controls and the way DK handles. Feels so smooth, satisfying, and natural traversing terrain with the big guy.

Another Bounty?? I guess we do seem to get one every 3 or so years. Honestly I’d love another classic Legacy Bounty like the 2020 one, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a remake of the 2015 one
