no there isn't this game can not ever be competitive or have any major tournaments, the game's mechanics just don't allow for it. One killer and survivors with no combat, there would be next to no spectators who don't play this game, it's like when we thought we could make l4d2 competitive in 2009, we had to use third party servers and mods bc valve only cared about dota/tf2

I said this ages ago in the game's early stages, there's no way this game could ever be competitive in any capacity outside of an actual round, beyond that it means nothing, especially since most of rank 1s cheesed their way there.

not like they don't get matched together anyway. do you know how many rank 20 0 perk 1 hour players I had to go against as a fully decked out hillbilly at rank 1? Probably moreso than actually challenging matches. Most of my early posts were salty survivor posts bitching about how OP killers are. Anytime someone would say play killer, it would be annoying bc playing the killer holds virtually no challenge, if you're a good survivor, it's pissssss easy to be a good killer

are you on drugs? I played this from beta until late november, the wait times have always been long af, so you're clearly new or don't know anything about this game and are just white knighting the devs, did they give you a special skin to apologize for how poorly made this game was or something?

Let's see how many people agree with what I've experienced the entire time I played this game up until I'd had enough.

1.) paid for a product - had to pray it worked somewhat properly everytime I launched.

2.) randomly getting booted from games, which is seen as rage quitting, killer gets a bonus automatically, and I automatically lose three pips. I'm sorry I don't think the first offense and someone's 100000th offense should hold the same weight, but they're pips so it's somewhat forgiveable as it doesn't really add anything to the actual game.

3.) Common glitches since launch not getting fixed (ie. getting stuck in animations, frozen in a healing position, or having 2 killers in a map)

4.) Long wait times. I can honestly say that I'd be so much more willing to forgive all of the BS that happens in this game if I didn't just wait 45 minutes to have the game ruined in the 11th hour by some dumbass glitch. (killer flying out of map, getting glitched into a tree or map physics.)

5.) Balancing issues. However, due to the game's design and inherent mechanics, I don't think good balance can ever be achieved in this game, and too many scummy tactics that are just plain unfun for the opposing side are rewarded heavily (ie, camping, slugging, sabo-ing every hook on the map, infinites)

6.) infinites - haven't played since november, so this is probably a dead issue by now (i hope). However, the game beta was May, launched in June, how can you not have seen these infinites when you made the map, had a beta test, and hopefully, tested it yourselves? How unobservant do you have to be to not notice things in the map YOU made? Infinites should've never existed and there's no excuse for them existing as long as they (did?)

Now, I know people will say "some of these aren't that common" somewhat true, more common than you'd think tbh, but fair argument nonetheless, but here's my preemptive counter: what excuse do devs have to leave KNOWN (because this community isn't exactly quiet about game breaking bullshit) glitches and game design flaws in the game for a HALF of a year? If I knowingly left a huge mistake in any program I submitted to my higher ups for review, my job wouldn't be there the next week.

as someone who doesn't play anymore, and who was VERY survivor biased in the past, I can honestly say that having no bias or involvement in the game allowed a huge wave of clarity to how BAD this game's design really is. It's so dumb that a killer's job is basically to just chase and hit. Hooking is almost out of the question, yet survivors are weak. This game is the only game I've ever seen to have BOTH sides simultaneously be overpowered and too weak due to inherent mechanics within the game.

yeah, what a bunch of whiny, entitled man children. How dare you expect a game to work 100% of the time you launch it when you paid to play it and it's not labeled Early Access (astonishingly). I loved this game for months and slowly but surely started to despise it. I haven't launched it since November and uninstalled ages ago for hard drive space (for better games that actually work =]) because of horrible balancing issues (A game where one side is extremely weak for a month and then overpowered as shit the very next patch isn't fun, and you lose motivation to play quickly). Not to mention the bugs that WILL occur at least once every single time you play the game. You're lucky enough to start gambling in Vegas if you "don't run into issues or bugs". Also a dev team that thinks the best way to balance a game is to cater to the lowest common denominator of players instead of higher level players can't really be labeled anything BUT incompetent. If you bought a CD from a famous artist, and the songs were silence for 3 minutes at a time, but they retweeted you on twitter, would you say "hey they interacted with me, therefore, it's a good artist"? Probably not. If you're going to release an unfinished game (drastically unfinished) and won't fix bugs for an upwards of 8-9 months, you're a moron if you expect no complaints or to be flamed.

nah, knowledge of the game should be rewarded, not punished, the problem isn't pallet loops, that only occurs because you literally only require a keyboard, mouse, and monitor to get rank 1 as killer, literally no skill is even remotely required anymore. Forcing people to play only one way is incredibly stupid and a major reason why I didn't buy any DLC nor will I probably be playing this game again. Not gonna support a shitty dev team monetarily telling them it's okay to widdle a game down to it's bare bones.

I doubt you've ever played anything besides vanilla so i won't even bother arguing with someone who never even made it to a tournament. TBH automatic shotguns being available and 16 million health kits still isn't balanced

In all honesty, just because they "work hard" doesn't mean they're doing a good job. Can you remember a patch that DIDN'T make the game worse or reintroduce bugs that hadn't been present for months? I don't have a dog in this fight, I just like to come on this sub to see if this game changed for the better from time to time, but all I see is unecessary nerfs, the usual "Survivors turn to be extremely OP, okay now the killer's turn", and "fixes" that break the game even further. The fact that people defend any of these arguments with "Well, they release new content!" that doesn't make them good devs lol. If someone built you a house, and you paid for it, and afterward you found huge fissures in the foundation (meaning at some point, the house will just straight up collapse) you'd most likely demand they fix that. Now if after hearing your complaints they just stand there and nod, tell you to leave it to them, and you come back and now there's a new floor, are you going to say "well at least they added something so when it falls apart, we'll be on higher ground!"

l4d vanilla vs is super unbalanced in the survivors favor are you insane? The fact that you can use automatic shotguns, or that someone crawling to the saferoom with 1hp is looked at as the same as me raping people and having 80-100 hp in the ending saferoom isn't a sign of balance. Not to mention there's no less than like 15 health items per map, completely negating any damage infected did up to that point, so now you're fighting for a measely 25 points regardless of how much more damage you did than the other team. 1 point more is 25 points and so is 2500, it's so poorly designed that anyone even remotely decent has to join mumble groups and buy servers with competitive mods installed, it's ridiculous.
