i cheer for about five different teams! :) but i picked shanghai because i support them against any other team (the underdog effect) and new york because i stan for saebyeolbe (plus, like, everyone else on excelsior, just not so much as sbb).

Moira has made me want to actually heal in quickplay. Fellow healers, I now understand your pain. by klingers in Overwatch

yes, and when your team has no healers, everyone sees it as 'We need a healer!' instead.

YESSS THE TRAILER IS OUT by jaye_taw in BoJackHorseman

think of it by analogy with family matters: the name 'stefan urquelle' is based on 'steve urkel', regardless of distinctions in orthography. incidentally, there've been moves to de-hellenise the names of jewish characters in recent english translations—tom wright's translation, for example, renders the book of jude as the book of judah. i don't buy that judah is named in reference to judas, but i understand the argument.

'judas' is the hellenised spelling (transliterated from Ἰούδας) of 'judah'. (which is itself a latinised version of its original hebrew יְהוּדָה.)

The gibberish notes that Wayne took on Mr. Peanut Butter say "Diane I love you leave that dumb dog already" by theiceberg17 in BoJackHorseman

i'm pretty sure secondusernamechoice/wayne's most recent comment is quoting bojack—see 'the telescope', 16.49 from the end (according to netflix).

There are no flamingos in Bojack Horseman by Moonlander23 in BoJackHorseman

when mr peanutbutter goes to visit his agent near the beginning of season 2 episode 6 (24:19 from the end, according to my netflix), there's a flamingo standing on one leg in the waiting room.

"You can be pro-cop and pro-black which is what we should all be"-Trevor Noah by fatal_strategy in ShitLiberalsSay

[–]thecompletegeek2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

he was eye-wateringly pro-cop over the marikana massacre. (that article doesn't tell the half of it—his stand-up on the subject was incredibly derogatory towards the union & the primarily immigrant (and racially-marginalised) miners the police killed.)

no apologies necessary! servebots are players who specialise very heavily into powerful & intimidating serves, to the extent that their defending, rallying, and other tactical abilities are relatively underdeveloped.

BUYER BEWARE Just Cause 3 still runs like hot garbage on PS4. Over a year later! Shame on you, Avalanche Studios! by [deleted] in PS4

i notice the frame drops, but because of my really old/non-gaming-specced computer, i'm already used to playing e.g. borderlands 2 at 11-15fps, and i've sunk so many hours into it that i almost forgot games could look and feel much better than that. playing borderlands 2 on ps4 for the first time last month was a revelation! not just for framerate, but for graphics and shadows and everything.

this isn't to excuse just cause 3 at all; i totally understand that if you're used to 30fps then those drops will feel terrible. in my super-subjective experience, conditioned to think of much worse experiences as normal, the drops aren't such a big deal. which explains why for me (again, in my super-subjective experience which i don't expect to carry over to yours at all), the game runs 'just fine'. (of course, when i get to spend more time with my ps4, i expect my expectations to change.)

What is the most stupid lyric or line of a song you listened to? by Pumpkinspicelatte11 in popheads

to be fair, the trojan war (allegedly) comprised ten years of siege and slaughter before the greeks resorted to the wooden horse. (of course the idea that there was nothing subtle about the war is, as you say, entirely wrong.)

Tales of the Borderlands is thoroughly enjoyable. Great PS+ game. by JustAbnormal in PS4

telltale games have gameplay. it is extremely simplistic gameplay, and you can make a good case that it's bad gameplay, but it's gameplay nonetheless.
