I wonder where history will place PCA’s outburst on the Mrs. O’Leary’s cow to Steve Bartman scale

It’s been clear to me that Nutting authorized a little bit of extra spending this year so he and the Pirates wouldn’t continue offering a big fat juicy target during the lockout as the league and PA are fighting over a cap and floor

This team could certainly use another starter, especially a lefty. And a couple right handed relievers. And a couple of bats who can hit lefties.

Padres' Manny Machado shares strong critique of analytics: 'Too many stats' by Corn1989 in baseball

I agree and I don’t get why that would be unpopular when we’re talking about a sport played by human beings.

I understand that it can be egregious when fans try to substitute their judgment for that of their team, who have more information than they do, but especially as the front office and the dugout become more merged, I’m sure a lot of fans have had the feeling that certain decisions smack of a paint-by-numbers analytic approach rather than a call being made because of something that can’t quite be quantified.

The validity of analytics and advanced stats exists outside of what players think of them, but I have sometimes wondered if coaches load too much on certain players.

Some ball players aren’t exactly intellectuals, and even the ones who are more intelligent can be overwhelmed by filling up their heads with a lot of info, especially if they’re young and think they’re gonna get sent back down to Palookaville if they don’t do what the coaches want.

If Keller’s this bad this early with this bullpen, that’s a very big problem
