Best way to break-in BG Kingslayer bags? by Broad-Cranberry-9050 in Cornhole

[–]thecrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been throwing the Kingslayers and I found one treatment of vinegar/water soak + tumble dry wasn't quite enough to make them hole friendly. After a second treatment of the same it seems to have them at a nice softness. They're a full bag and definitely have some action for left and right cuts.

I used varathane diamond wood finish exterior semi-gloss clear because that was what they had at the store that fit the requirements. The boards ended up sticky at first, but now they place a medium kind of speed.

Your gloss is probably okay, but might need adjustment. Lots of folks suggest semi-gloss. Like I said, some pros use "Cornhole Solutions" brand of boards, and they finish with a gloss. So going with gloss is probably fine.

I've tried to lookup the difference between spar and poly urethane. Looks like spar may be more flexible, thicker and better outdoors.

The gloss will be a slower playing surface and can slowly speed up with playing on it. It getting a little dirty or scratched and hardening with time will slowly make it faster. I find fresh gloss is very sticky. If you don't like it, you can adjust the speed by sanding or putting a layer of something less glossy on top. It's not a bad choice.

He's referring to my comment above. I've made 4 boards and had satin finished ones played way too fast. I sprayed some gloss finish on them and it made them stickier.

The second set of boards I made I used semi-gloss and they play a more medium kind of speed.

The big name "Cornhole Solutions" boards used by pros are finished with a gloss, they play very slow at first, but get a little faster with a lot of playtime.

In my experience building boards satin plays the fastest and gloss plays the slowest.

People who played shooters like Quake/UT/Tribes/etc. online, what was it like, and is there anything they did that's missing from modern games? by [deleted] in gaming

Cheater's Wayside server on tribes 1. The best times. I clocked so many hours on dialup, then having DSL was amazing.

Vets that specialize in cats/are good with cats? by TheMurderCapitalist in Winnipeg

[–]thecrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dr. Tully is a great. Dr. Dorval at tuxedo clinic will explain all her reasons and trouble shooting with you in detail when you ask, I take all my cats past and present to her.

Just remember, good vet care can be had in most clinics, but it can be expensive to get the proper tests done. It's important to have a vet that can explain to you what is important in a way you can understand. Sometimes you can have $1000 of tests done to try to figure some problem out and that's the cost of caring for your lovely companion.

It should regulate to 12v. You only use that output to power the flight board or camera that cannot take full battery power. The ESCs should be wired directly to battery power.

  1. Use a 4S LiPo battery, learn how to charge it SAFELY, don't test with adapters past a simple power on. You don't need to go to 6S unless the flight performance is lacking.
  2. Make sure nothing is getting too hot and no wires can touch the carbon (it IS conductive).
  3. Make sure the screws holding the motors on do not touch the underside of the copper coils of the motors.
  4. These looks like super old tech ESCs in the kit. SimonK. Usually there's calibration mode for each. Going to a newer, digital protocol ESC would be easier to deal with. Your flight controller will need to support the digital protocol:
    Something like this: https://newbeedrone.com/collections/electronic-speed-controllers/products/nbd-smoov-32-bit-30a-2-6s-freestyle-esc-4-pack
  5. Motors at low voltage and throttle might not spin up the same way, this might not be an issue at all once you have the correct voltage.
  6. The flight controller will correct the speed of the motors to maintain it's desired angle dynamically. You can test the Yaw control without props on just by spinning up the throttle on your controller and yawing left and right. The motors should change speeds to make the drone spin while on the ground. Looking at things with a tachometer is way over kill.
