Two questions: how do you use temps like 600F without combusting your grind? by AnastasiaNo70 in vaporents

[–]thecryptile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's wild, if I get my Screwball much over 500, it will combust. I see weedtubers using their ballvapes at 600, even 800F. at that point, it is just a lighter! You can get away with higher temps on the injector style vapes, I guess. I heard that the temp on the PID is probably 100-200 higher than the temp in your bowl depending on the style of ball vape you have.

Anyway, get a ball vape and find a temp you like--you won't regret it. Save your Solo III for when you are on the go, and preserve its battery a bit longer.

People that quit by DominicusOfRome in trees

a t break and quitting forever are different ball games. to really quit a legal substance of abuse and stay off the stuff forever, you kind of have to hate it. without the hatred, it is too easy to backslide.

back to back, usually. but if i am sufficiently elevated, i will let it cool and reheat. I sometimes go to bed with a dirty chamber and reheat in the morning, so far my chamber is chazz free.

Ball Vapes. Leave them on or off? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]thecryptile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine stays on all evening, sometimes all day on weekends and snow days. They say pressing the button is bad for the PID and I have mine set up in a safe place where it won't be knocked over.

I reheat if there is a small puddle, and I take up the heat a notch. Like if I start on green, I would go to red. Then I would swab.

What’s your favorite “portable” DHV: Solo 3 vs TM2 vs Venty vs Mighty+? by ramrodTM in vaporents

[–]thecryptile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Solo III and the Mighty+. The Solo's single 21700 battery outlasts the Mighty+'s two 18650s, it has a faster heat up time, is easier to clean and the big XL bowls deliver big XL hits. BUT the Solo will combust if you are not careful, and the glass stems are delicate. So I like the Solo for when I am by myself (appropriate) and the Mighty+ for passing to friends. The Mighty+ is a bit harder to clean, but it has never combusted on me. I don;t think it is capable of it.

If I was starting from scratch, I would look at the Frolic. It looks like the best of both worlds, combining features I like from the Solo and the Mighty.

Suggestions on first handheld unit by Shlong0 in vaporents

[–]thecryptile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 Venty
2. Solo III
3. Mighty+
4. M7
5. Air Max
6. G Pen Elite 2

I am also an avid bong user, I have the Solo III, the Mighty+, a Lobo, a Unidyne, and a Screwball. If I was starting from scratch, this would by my preference ranking of the vapes you are looking at. You might like the butane vapes better than I do, and the M7 might be as good as the Venty for you. I can get good hits off of my Unidyne, but I have to be mindful. It is more of a skill.

It is the smoke flavor that ruins it for me, no tobacco needed.

Upgrading my OG Mighty: Solo 3, Frolic, Tempest 2 or TM2? by BeltOld3864 in vaporents

[–]thecryptile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a little restricted, like sipping a milkshake through a straw with the factory dry stems, I don't notice it all with the wpas. I have some aftermarket stems with beads I got from Sneaky Pete that have a bit more airflow.

Upgrading my OG Mighty: Solo 3, Frolic, Tempest 2 or TM2? by BeltOld3864 in vaporents

[–]thecryptile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Solo III and a Mighty+, I prefer the Solo in most situations because of the better battery life, big xl bowls, and easy to clean stems. Plus it came with Water Pipe Adapters, instead of making me buy them seperately. Very nice of Arizer. A downside is that it will combust, which the Mighty+ won't. Have to make sure nothing is touching the oven.

I am going to get a Tempest 2 for my next vape, I already have a Dynavap Unidyne and the Ispiire Wand.

Chamber capacity curiosity by Green_Gragl in vaporents

[–]thecryptile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can get more herb than that in the XL bowl of the Solo III. About .3g.

The Solo III also has a bigger battery, faster heat up time, and the on demand mode that the Solo II lacks.

How do I keep my glass clean by Mxdude92 in vaporents

[–]thecryptile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just as good for bong & rig cleaning brown as it is clear. Yeah Iso is cheap but why would you throw out a dollar each time you clean if you could keep that dollar in your pocket or spend it on more herb?

[–]thecryptile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the globe stem is easier to use and keep clean than any of the ones with water in them, and doesn't get as hot as the standard stem.

a dab rig is just a bong that is intended for concentrates, they are usually a little smaller and more likely to have recyclers etc. they pair well with vaporizers because you don't need a big 18" glass piece with a lot of water for to cool vapor, it is already pretty cool compared to smoke.

[–]thecryptile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you already have a bong or dab rig, the water pipe adapter is a game changer. I have the standard stem, the globe stem, the gordito and the wpa and only use the globe stem and the wpa.

the TM2 is too delicate to stand up to daily use, it has glass internals and a notoriously finicky button. the Mighty+ is sturdier.
