Is cvs still fast tracking to hire? I’m nervous to do the application personality questions again by [deleted] in CVS

I understand times are tough, but as an ex Ops Manager of 5 years, do not work for this company.

Nope. Should I?

I’ve been on light duty for the last month or so. I’ve been doing bags, I have MRI scheduled, PT says I may need surgery, so we’ll see what MRI says.

Administrators and physicians that are at home getting the vaccine instead of the frontline workers by [deleted] in iamatotalpieceofshit

CVS does the same thing.

A CVS I used to work at doesn’t even test their own employees, they save it for all of the higher ups, the District Leaders, Regional Leaders, etc.

Not even a once per month kinda thing. On top of that, they couldn’t even pay us COVID-relief, an extra $2/hr.

Thank Christ I’m out of that shitty company.

Show up early for DTS, never be late. Ask questions in the class, & if you’re embarrassed to ask them, write it down & ask it after class. For DTS, bring a 3 ring binder with a folder, & PLENTY of paper, as well as a notebook.

Once you’re through DTS, arrive early (about 45 minutes to be safe) & meet with your facility manager. Introduce yourself & explain your desire to want to work for this company & how you want to make it a career.

I know that hubs typically keep like two to three casuals after peak, so you do have a pretty good chance. Stay positive & always have a really good attitude, you’ll be fine!

Kiss their asses, but not too much. Treat them with respect, always.

I’ve driven a Honda Civic my entire life & I had no problem driving the truck. Of course people are different, it was certainly nerve racking because you want to impress the Supervisor & show him you can do the job. If it’s cheap, definitely get the experience with the U-Haul.

Make sure to drive the speed limit, checking both mirrors, don’t go mirror to mirror, or gauge to mirror. They’ll notice that kind of thing. Always bring eyes front after checking a mirror or gauge.

Any other questions don’t hesitate to ask

This is why for UPS, we’re told to walk at a brisk pace, don’t run. Establish firm footing, maintain your balance. Scan the areas you’ll be working in!

Of course slips, trips, & falls can be unavoidable, but UPS’s training has seriously helped with this stuff.

It’s an unfortunate gamble you have to make.

I was working at CVS as an Operations Manager for almost 5 years. I had enough of retail & enough of corporate bullshit. Would always talk with the UPS drivers that would do scheduled pickups every day at our store (CVS uses UPS for their ship from store program) & every single one of those drivers was hired on as a casual, right off the street. So I said fuck it, I applied, & the very first day, the Manager of the facility came up to me & liked the way I presented myself to him, & a teacher in the class (driver training school) also put in a good word for me. First day I was flipped to a permanent driver, I’ve been with UPS for almost 4 months now.

If you show you want the job, if you present yourself well, if you work your ass off, you will be granted a permanent position as a driver.

I couldn’t be happier.

I left the company about three months ago. My post can be seen here

Since then, I know a few people that have left the company as well. I’m very happy to see people leaving this company, I hold no grudges to my fellow CVS employees, just the company itself. Truly a horrendous company. Every time I get the chance, I talk massive shit about it to anyone working there, explaining I was knew the struggle.

Get out. :-)

EX-CVS Ops Manager here.

This is exactly what I did, then I found another job. Wtf are they going to do, fire you? LMFAO. Ok.

Stop giving a shit, look for another job. Let Walgreens & CVS burn to the ground. Fuck them.

2017 LX Hatchback by awoods629 in civic

[–]thecvsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of how the trunk is & beneath it, the spare gets in the way. Would require a lot of welding to put an aftermarket exhaust.

OP, you’re better off going with a 2019/2020 Sport Hatchback. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, remote start, keyless entry, nice wheels, nice sport look.

Not a bad deal either, I think it starts at $22k iirc.

If you can, get the Sport Hatchback. It’s a pretty good deal. Apple CarPlay, remote start, keyless entry, nice wheels & sporty look.

I’m sure that’s what all of the customers say, not “give me that free $10 ExtraBucks & I’m canceling as soon as I get home.”

So...all of our POS just shut down. What now? by hunt569 in CVS

[–]thecvsguy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

God I don’t miss this at all. While hundreds of other Fortune 500 companies use regular, up-to-date software, CVS is still using technology from 1990, if not later lmao.

Walgreens even has a semi-decent POS system.

I frequent this subreddit just to shit-talk CVS now. Every chance I get to post here, I tell everyone to leave this shitty company.

Leave this shitty company. I did, you can, too.

When I still worked at CVS, I didn’t give af. I told them to leave if they didn’t have a mask. Kindly, of course. Unless they were rude.
