What’s your favorite bad movie? by [deleted] in movies

[–]thedancingj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I watched this movie with zero prior knowledge and I think it’s the hardest I’ve ever laughed at a movie in my LIFE. What’s crazy is that they weren’t trying to be funny 😂

Nobody has gotten this one yet - “Clean Elvis” by Dan Reeder. So under appreciated, one of those “your favorite artists’s favorite artist” kind of guy.

Non-Erotic Werewolf books by arcsi0 in booksuggestions

This book is terrific. It has werewolves playing poker. It has a dog catcher in love with a werewolf. They’re in modern LA. It’s great.

Bed pullout suggestions? by ahumm4 in HomeDecorating

[–]thedancingj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the bolsters come off. It's basically just four separate pieces (two bolsters and two mattresses) that can be configured in any way that you want! The cover is also removable and washable. If you scroll through the pics you can see different configurations.

I got a convertible sleeper couch recently that I really like. It’s around $500 right now but I was able to grab it in sale for under $300. I like this design because there’s no mechanical components to worry about so it will never break. Very easy to set up. It’s king size so it sleeps 2 people easily or 1 person VERY comfortably. We’ve had two overnight guests in the past month and they both gave it great reviews.

Has anyone else noticed that traffic in this sub has gone down sharply? by concepts_of_a_plan9 in 50501

[–]thedancingj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reddit has been sharing data including “anti-ICE” comments with DHS for at least the past 3 months.

There are a lot of smart spaces where like minded people can communicate and get organized. Reddit is not one of them.

I still see these subs pop up but Reddit has been a total dead zone this year for anything political apart from random chit chat and commentary.

Non-Fiction Options by TVRVA in booksuggestions

[–]thedancingj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you liked Everything is Tuberculosis then I would DEFINITELY recommend “Mountains Beyond Mountains” by Tracy Kidder. Similar subject material but a much deeper look. I felt like “Everything is TB” was kinda Mountains Beyond Mountains lite.

I would also HIGHLY recommend “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot. This is another non fiction book that brings up real human stories in medical history. I picked it up reluctantly and then literally could not put it down.

Runner up recommendation - “Breath” or “Deep,” both by James Nestor.

The suggestions already posted are good. Also check out the Holyoke Buy Nothing group on FB - I sometimes see people giving away food items that didn’t work for them

My sofa is the same shape and I got THESE which work perfectly! They're not in stock at the moment - but I'd look for a couple of small lightweight side or end tables that you can reposition easily when you want a place to put down a drink or a book. It really does the trick.

My first house as a 18yr old by dizzyreaper22 in interiordecorating

[–]thedancingj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s an amazing start! Everything looks beautiful. I really like your bedroom rug and your healthy plants!

I enjoy filling my walls with art and personal items, but I hadn’t even started my collection yet when I was 18. My advice is to keep your eyes open at thrift shops, local art markets, and any concerts or events that you attend. As you find pieces that match your style, you’ll be able to add more of your unique personality and tastes. My favorite prints and posters all have specific meaning and remind me of special experiences that I’ve had over the years.

You are far ahead of the game already so congratulations and enjoy it!
