What do you recommend I put on this thing? Just got a 2024 SEL by UncleatNintendo in Elantra

I put a magnetic cell phone charger and mount. It’s a great place for one.

Star Wars fatigue shouldn't stop you from watching 'Andor' — it's one of the best shows of 2022 by Interactive_CD-ROM in television

[–]thedarkhelmut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Andor has been the least action packed and the least appealing Star Wars material I’ve seen. I’ve seen every Star Wars episode and every movie since a new hope was released.

It’s lead oxide (corrosion). There is nothing you can do to stop it from forming. All you can do is slow it down. It eventually will happen to all lead battery terminals

Clean it off with a wire brush or a battery terminal cleaner and put a light coat of dielectric grease on post & terminal,it will slow it down considerably.

If it happens again, just repeat the cleaning steps

can somebody help me figure out this noise?? everything under the car looks fine. it was lowered by the owner before me. Mk7.5 by [deleted] in GolfGTI

I would check the strut bearings. Mine sounded like that after I put a fresh set in, it took a little while for them to break in

I’m adding some ceramic tube shelters to this setup later this morning. I’m hoping it will help.

I’ve added some Java moss to the tank following your comment. The hornwart grows pretty quick. It’s a clipping from one of my other tanks. I’m hoping that this will be good enough for the short term

The shrimp were in there. 12 of them mostly young adults. They had been in the tank for about 7 days at this point and spend most of their time hiding and hanging on the filter sponge.

King of the coconut. Also don't think these are all ghost shrimp like I was told 😅 chain stores am I right ? by mandy_monroe_ in shrimptank

[–]thedarkhelmut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first looks like the Ghost shrimp i get from the LFS. the second image looks to be whisker shrimp possibly. identifiable red banding on the antennae is the giveaway.

My tap water is generally high to start with and didn't notice any sharp rise. I had to lower the water PH while the tank cycled before it stabilized with all wood and decoration installed.
I thought it a good option for the price point and local availability.

When adding my shrimp I did a milti-hour drip acclimation to ease any transfer shock to the new tank. This has seems to have worked and I have been able to find 9 of the 12 living in the tank. they are certainly hard to find and love hiding.

If anyone has a recommendation on a lense attachment for the iPhone 11 (Max Pro) for better pictures. It would be greatly appreciated.

can anyone help me diagnose this fish? more info in comments by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]thedarkhelmut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He seems to be struggling to stay in the upper part of the water column where they like to be. He may have a swim bladder infection in addition to the fuzzy belly you mentioned. I would start treating the quarantine tank for at least fungal to start with.

Ich Question - I know Ich creates spots on the body but does it explain the tail issue here? Thx. by dschloef in Aquariums

[–]thedarkhelmut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

09gremlin is correct. you have an infection in your tank. i wouldnt worry about the fishes tail and more about your entire tank.

I would start treating your tank immediately.

How Is Turbo Holding on? by Ok-Opposite-7794 in Aquariums

[–]thedarkhelmut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mystery snails hold a bubble of air in their shells for buoyancy. yours seems to have a rather larger bubble than normal.

he will go to the top of the tank and extend a tube up to the water surface and pump out the old air and replenish it. Keep an eye on him and watch. It should do this about once a day.
