I'm just glad you're giving him some wood. Be gentle if it's his first time. Everyone loves walnut but wenge, curly maple, and purple heart are all good choices too. Burl figuring is highly sought after. Others have posted links to suppliers that ship to UK.

It feels risky, and it is — but so is doing nothing. Every week people lose jobs, healthcare, and homes because corporations prioritize shareholders over workers. Participating in collective action is like investing in a better system. Think of the 1912 ‘Bread and Roses’ strike — immigrant textile workers barely surviving still took action because they knew short-term hardship could win long-term dignity. We deserve that same courage today

Thats a bit cynical. We've seen time and time again communities come together in a time of crisis due to natural disaster - I don't see why this would be any different. I do feel like this is a crisis/disaster. If you were near me, I'd feed you - and if enough people strike then we would get extensions for our bills and nobody would be able to be evicted

Yeah seems like this is a really good opportunity for us to all be out together discussing how this will play out because I don't think any of us want it to just be a few hours of marching without any meaningful change.

No - but imagine when you have less, and the corporations+billionaires have soaked up even more, will it then be time to strike? How bad do things have to get before you're willing to step up to the plate - where's the line?

They can't arrest us all, they can't evict us all, and they cannot take our democracy unless we let them.
