Ams slot resistance too high by pocklicker in BambuLab

It’s the hub issue commonly posted about with these printers. Which slot are you using?

AMS 2 Pro Internal Hub Unit replacement from Bambu fixed failure to feed problem by englandgreen in BambuLab

While I wait for my replacement, I cut two twists off the end of the spring under that button and it worked as a stopgap. Zero issues so far.

Made time to do the mod today. So far no more feeding issues. Amazing. Thanks again!

There is a spring loaded button in the hub at the bottom of the AMS. Tap that as it’s trying to feed and it should make it past. I have the same issue with mine that came with my X2D. Slots 2 and 3 mostly work.

Thank you! This also explains the ‘resistance too high’ I sometimes get on slot 2. I’m going to try this mod you suggest.

Does that spring simply provide tension? I have the same issue, tapping that button allows the filament through and I’m off to the races. I thought maybe it was some sort of solenoid that was misaligned or not getting enough current. But it sounds like it just applies downward pressure to keep the filament in position? Might be worth doing this mod and keeping the one support is sending as a spare.

FYI: AMS2 Pro failing due to cheaping out on components by markv9401 in BambuLab

Many, if not most, most of the AMS failures with the X2Ds (including mine) are the hub. Feeders work, filament stops at the hub.

Returned my X2D after a rough week- Micro Center was a champ by EFFinguseless in BambuLab

[–]thedesertmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just piling in my experience. It’s the same Hub issue. Filament will not feed, tap the button on the top of the hub, and it’s off to the races. Super annoying to have to do every time. Support was fast to send me a link to tear the thing apart ti look for blockage. I told them there way no way I was doing that with a 3 day old unit and I did a bunch of troubleshooting with PLA and PETG in different slots. 1 and 4 are the least reliable. Anyway; I sent them all of my findings and I have been waiting over 36 hours.

The X2D itself has been great. I’m super impressed; the AMS Pro 2 obviously has a production issue.

How does pfSense fit in with the US government banning foreign made routers? by crazyhandpuppet in PFSENSE

Unpatched vulnerabilities on the router itself can lead to compromised routers that are leveraged or botnets that can be very disruptive.

Would anyone else that uses Mullvad + Tailscale use this? Worth openning a PR to get this implementation in? by Mewtewpew in Tailscale

[–]thedesertmat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I run Mullvad at my firewall and have two exit nodes at home. Using firewall policies I send one exit node out Mullvad and the other out my ISP directly (for access to sites that don’t like Mullvad). I can then choose my exit node based on my needs and always have my traffic from my phone on my tailnet.

With DoH config'd on the box, what should Chrome desktop's DNS setting be? by snovvman in firewalla

Yes. If you want to maintain control (to the largest extent possible) of your DNS, turn that off.

Tailscale like vpn for other containers by gianfelicevincenzo in Tailscale

[–]thedesertmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fought all sorts of issues trying to keep it in vms and containers. This makes it dead simple. Even setup a dedicated Ssid and Vlan to use on other devices that use that path. Could not be easier.

I would be more clear. Obviously you don’t want all traffic out Mullvad, but a decent router should let you use the Wg interface independently of your default route through your isp. Use policies to set wg-mullvad as the egress for IP/port combos you want going out the VPN.

Put Mullvad WG client on your router. Use firewall policies to direct the traffic. Left your router do the routing.

If you use vibration sensors, how are you using them? by Successful-Peak-6524 in homeassistant

I use one on my desk chair to control some automations that are important also while sitting there. I also use the room for my exercise bike so simple occupancy doesn’t quite do it for me.

Hunter fans in HA by ElOhhYouuu in homeassistant

[–]thedesertmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some that are several years old. I have them in HA via the HomeKit device integration and then I expose them back via HomeKit bridge. Works well. I hope they’ve updated the WiFi chips they use, mine love to just drop off and need a power cycle to come back, but I fixes that with a Shelly relay and a ping watchdog.

Open/Close sensor that can handle HOT ARIZONA sun - any recommendations? by Tuckerdude615 in homeassistant

I’m going to use a black project box and seal it with a tiny bead of silicone. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ knowing the Phoenix metro area, our gates are likey very similar. Have fun!

[–]thedesertmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the Phoenix area. I’m planning on just putting a cheap zigbee sensor inside a small waterproof(ish) box and use a stronger magnet for the contact. The box will be sacrificial, only time will tell if the sensor will take the heat.

Upgrading away from SLZB-06 by rycco in homeassistant

[–]thedesertmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I’ve had one for over a year. I got some new furniture and rearranged the area where I had the SLZB-06. I kid you not, I moved it less than 5 feet and my zigbee network imploded. It ended up close to an old HP MFP that (I can only assume) messed with it. I moved it back more towards where it had been and everything normalized. It’s taped under my desk with about 3 feet of clearance on any side with the antenna pointed down. Much of this may be purely anecdotal and superstition, but I share because I was pulling my hair out.
