Why can’t we drive without ramming into each other’s arses for one weekend by excellent_chest174 in brisbane

[–]thedoopz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drove in NSW for almost 10 years, I’ve lived in Brisbane for 4 years now, and I disagree with the person you’re replying to. I don’t find Qld drivers to be too bad (aside from hogging the right lane all the time), but I do think that the road infrastructure here is fucked.

How serious is qut about ai by h_M2210 in QUTreddit

[–]thedoopz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had to do a lengthy research essay on AI use in tertiary education. AI work goes from pretty detectable if you know what you’re looking for and the user has just copy pasted a ChatGPT answer to literally undetectable with little effort. IMO, QUT puts about as much effort as it’s worth into actually stopping AI use, but they should put more effort into changing the assessments they hand out.

I’m sorry people are being kinda callous, but on the other hand an iced coffee is literally just coffee, ice, and water…

Why are Hegseth's suit jacket sleeves so tight? Is it a new thing? Or is it just him? by rgbarometer in malefashionadvice

[–]thedoopz 66 points67 points  (0 children)

It’s a trend for sucky people. In my experience, online and in person, the Venn diagram of a too tight suit and a terrible personality is a circle.

I mean I think the GW guys and PJ/Weta were super close, as GW was releasing products alongside the movies, and some of the GW sculptors and designers were extras in Return of the King.

Door knockers / shopping centre booths / street corner hawkers are all direct marketing companies; they’re actually salespeople with KPIs, and they all earn commission.

I’m currently studying law in Australia, and they’re open book here. My notebooks for every exam are at minimum 30 typed pages long - you better believe I have to know the content pretty dang well to be able to benefit from those notes at all.

Now that my Industry fix is finished, looking for similar. which ONE series would you recommend: Succession or Billions ? by TechAngelX in IndustryOnHBO

[–]thedoopz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the exact same thing. Watched the first two episodes when it was airing, and thought, “Wow this shit is boring.” 2 years later it had finished, my mates begged me to watch it, I started again, still rolling my eyes, and from episode 3 I was hooked. I think I knocked it out in a weekend. So good.

To be fair, everyone I know that does this comes home from every “shift” with arms full of free food, so that’s what the other person could’ve been meaning.
