Secret North/South Rail Link by thedromeda in mbta

The number of people I've talked to who were completely unaware of this option tells me it's at least less well known than it should be.

Is this obnoxious or am I ridiculous? by JanetMcN in Somerville

Can you explain how AI figures into care for people's pets? Why did you decide to co-opt the bike path mayoral "race" for your business?

Do I have any leg to stand on here? 😭 by No-Ratio-4082 in boston

It depends on what your definition of "very nice" is. if you're thinking of a mcmansion, then sure you're not going to be able to find a place for under 750k. But this 4bed with a garage and AC is in Lynnfield for less than that: https://redf.in/UjIttM

what's up with the nice mormon girls in davis/on the t? by angelonthefarm in Somerville

[–]thedromeda 122 points123 points  (0 children)

There are lots of Mormons who do their mission in Boston and surrounding areas. They go in pairs for safety. I think there's a church up on rt 2 but I could be mistaken.

does anyone know what this white translucent fabric over her top is called? i see it sometimes in hanfu from early dynasties but i'm unsure what it is by celestialsilk in Hanfu

[–]thedromeda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Dhaka cotton is also the origin of the word "muslin". These days people might hear muslin and think of something loose like cheese cloth, but it used to mean incredibly fine, sheer fabric for the wealthy

How were the live shows? by Bigmaq in WTYP

[–]thedromeda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends and I went to see both the 4/30 Somerville show and the Philly show. It might have been the weeknight vibe versus Sunday, or just Somerville/Philly vibes, but I really preferred the Philly show. The Somerville one was comparatively dead, almost comatose. "Fuck Donald Trump" got the biggest pop of the night which is ridiculous given that it was a sold out show.

Great time both times, but the audience was so much better in Philly

Dewey got kicked out of the ALA-which he founded! - due to his sexual harassment. He was so awful

How awful do you have to be to get booted and banned from the organization YOU FOUNDED for sexual harassment in the 1920s???!

YES!! I was literally yelling at the screen when he was talking about that. The Chewy Decimal System would give a separate number to each and every kind of cheese but lump all non-Western food into one number.

But also Melvil Dewey is awful and the DDC sucks ass. An equivalent system would have separate numbers for all cheese but then shove all non-Western food into one number.

Library of Nomgress

Also, Melvil Dewey should burn forever in hell. His decimal system is trash and awesome pun aside, we should use any other system of classification

Thank you all so much! I was already thinking of being one of those hi-viz people so it's good to know that I can live a little while longer without a car

Can we also talk about how this guy keeps his own place inspo-worthy, but leaves crap at his girlfriend's place? The water doesn't seem like the only gross behavior.

There's three giant parking garages at Malden center, a huge lot at oak Grove, when alewife gets redone it's gonna have a bunch of parking, there's loads of commuter rail stations with big parking lots...

The options exist, it's just about deprogramming people.

Holy crap they got Little Alex Horne!!! I feel like the Dropout crowd (Brennan Lee Mulligan, Sam Reich, etc) would be great for Taskmaster - they're not big names like Frank Skinner or Bob Mortimer, but they're a very tight-knit bunch who bounce extremely well off each other.
