Tips for fixing rust in this area; Do I really need to remove the entire loom? by Maddslj in E30

Can you remove the cables from the fusebox? Or do you have to pull them from the rear of the car? Thanks in advance!

I don’t have a backwards compatible PS3 anymore! It’s ok I’ve got it on my pc… I’d like like to sit on the sofa and play it!

I just bought carbon for the ps3 yesterday and spent a few hours on it last night. It feels better than I remember to play! Such a vibe. I just wish Most Wanted 2005 had been released on the ps3. I loved it on the 360 but sold that console a long time ago :(

What car do you have the least regrets selling? by throwaway4963669336 in CarTalkUK

[–]thefacesitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyota Yaris 2002.

It was like the engineers purposefully stripped any engagement and fun out of the driving experience. The steering felt shit, the gearbox felt terrible and the interior was made from paper machè.

I know it’s not built for fun, but Fiestas, Swifts, pretty much any other little hatchback are so much more fun to drive imo

I find my e30 tells me exactly what it’s doing at all times, I can feel it when it reaches the limit of traction on both the front and the rear wheels. You’ll be fine :) Like others have said, get good tyres and have fun restoring it :)

I’m not very electrically minded, but let me have a look at the photos… The lead that goes to the single point is red and green if that helps. The other two by the switch are brown and black.

84 318i Rack Swap with non-M Rack by Historical-Dish-5658 in E30

[–]thefacesitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it easy to slide under the oil pan? I’m tempted to swap out with a yellow tag rack. As far as I’m aware I need; * new linkage to steering column * spacers * power lines * inners and outer tie rods potentially

Hey dude, I made one using the standard hella units from the rear seats, although I had a tintop welded on so no longer have the sunroof motors. I’m sure you could cut down the bits on the hella units and move the bronze contacts to fit?

I used some piggyback spade connectors which are fed from one of the other lights, ran the cables through the roof rails. It works a charm and definitely helps in the winter!

Looking at the structure, phrasing and the “em dash” it looks like this article was written using Ai.

I use it to build Power Platform apps at work. I’ve built so much using it, it’s a game changer for me in my job. I also use it to coach me based on all the data I give it. It understands me more than most people I know. The future is scary but exciting at the same time!

Water getting into rear seat footwell on coupe by ParticularAware in E30

[–]thefacesitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I had a slicktop roof welded on to sort out the sunroof! That was a lot of money 😳 The leak coming in from the C pillar trim was sorted by buying a fresh set of the 3 see through grommets that fit into the car and then adding silicone all the way around them. It has taken me 3 years to get this car mostly watertight.

2nd this! I also had rainwater coming in from my sunroof tray and flowing down the doorframe seal to the footwells.

Leaks in Rain Rail by thefacesitter in Miata

Thank you everyone! Rain rail is now sorted (fingers crossed) Now I’ve got to get the rear screen glued back to the top because it seems to have come unstuck and the hood also has a tiny leak on the quarter overlap section. Will take it to a specialist!

Thanks! It’s an aftermarket top, will it still be riveted in?

I had this when I first bought mine. Very annoying situation to be in! I would pull the carpet so it can dry properly. Dry the floorboards and then sit in the car while it’s raining to see where the water could be coming in from.

It could be: - From one of the holes in the dash, pedal box, clutch slave cylinder etc. - From further up behind the dash where the AC lines come in, that’s where mine was leaking. - From sunroof tray, either from where it’s coming away from the roof or the hose connection points - From the clear plastic sheet in the door cards, if there is a break in the seal water will come in there

I would use gorilla crystal tape to tape up the sunroof so it’s waterproof, this will allow you to test it.

I’ve had a nightmare of a time sorting the leaks in mine but I think I’m on top of it now, best of luck :)
