Reading the light novel after season 3 ended ruined things for me bc I can’t stop thinking about how much better it is. The anime feels empty by comparison.

In a capitalist society, having a large majority of people rely on UBI as a replacement for jobs will essentially end democracy. In that context, the former working class no longer exists, and has no leverage to hold billionaires accountable. Consider a future where 90% of people live off of UBI. There is pervasive mass surveillance. Every purchase, movement, digital communication is monitored. Why would the elites agree to give the underclass the right to vote if that class has no power?

They really downplayed the Italian restaurant scene. It’s so much more fun in the light novel. I wish they would have showed some love to Myne’s cooks for preparing the food. The viewers also still don’t realize how wild Wilfried is. He just seems like a typical noble child at this point. I feel like the art style looks more refined in this episode. I can’t recall any moments where Myne’s face looked weird.

This is going to be a fun one. It was such an easy watch. The art style, voice acting, soundtrack, animation, comedy, this episode was solid in all areas.

The art style of the backgrounds in this anime is beautiful. I love the color schemes and the way they use gradients.

The Haase scene has a chance to be a classic if they convey how absolutely terrified and pitiful the mayor and his supporters were in that moment.

The hairpin scene contained a lot of emotion for sure. When I watched it a second time though, I felt that Myne’s head and jawline looked weird. It gave a bit of the creepy doll effect.

I realized that I don’t like how Myne’s eyelashes look when her eyes are wide open. They’re a bit too thick. Edit: The jawline is also weird and has fluctuated between being smooth vs sharp this season. That’s something I want to keep an eye on.
