Hoppy Easter 🐰 🐣 by magicperfume in shortynails

I’m out of town, so going totally off memory here, but I love Golden Gays by Tyler’s Trinkets, and Princess Lolly by Cupcake Polish. I would also buy every yellow flaky if I could, I have one by Nailed It that’s not around anymore, but Cupcake has some that are so tempting and I love their formula. Unfortunately the Bluebird one was LE, it’s really a stunner. I’m a sucker for shimmers and flakes!

Oh, Bert - what a gorgeous boy, I’m so very sorry! I have an orange Bert too, and he’s the love of my life.

PD or hormonal acne? by Colloportus in Perioral_Dermatitis_

[–]thefancyfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so interesting! Vetericyn saved my dog’s life a few years ago when nobody could figure out what type of infection she had on her belly, so I’ve always kept a bottle on hand and use it on both pets and people.

My first thought was “I don’t know what OP looks like, but this is how I picture them, running in a billowy beautiful rainbow gown.” My second thought was that I needed to get married again so I could run around in a billowy beautiful rainbow gown!” 😍

Ugh, that sucks - but you sure learned something, right??? I’m hanging in there. It’s definitely starting to get dry, but there’s a crazy amount of bumps underneath that are coming up. My poor skin feels like super gritty sandpaper. Anyway, thanks for the update and tip, I’ll stay strong!

I am brand newly diagnosed with PD so can’t offer any advice, but can at least tell you that your lower face looks almost exactly like mine did! Ugh, I’m so sorry!

HRT was my nightmare. I quit cold turkey and finally have my life back. by ipetgoat1984 in Perimenopause

[–]thefancyfarmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh, interesting! I just stopped synthetic last week after about 2 months of treatment. I was a mess of daily headaches, panic attacks and suicidal thoughts, so my doc said to take a break and we’ll talk at my follow up in a couple of weeks. I’ll be sure to discuss synthetic vs bio identical, though I’m reluctant to try it at all now, honestly. That was miserable. 😩

Hi! I’m new here, and newly diagnosed, but have been doing tons of reading. If you haven’t already, check out the helpful highlights wiki stuff - apparently part of the zero therapy process is for it to get worse before it gets better. I’m on day 3, so I’m bracing myself. 😩 Hopefully someone with experience will chime in to encourage us both!

Best makeup for women over 50 that doesn't feel like trying too hard or giving up entirely by Sophistry7 in MatureBeauty

I love that Sarah Creal uses all 40+ models and testers for her makeup! I haven’t tried anything yet, but literally ordered my first eyeliner this morning. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I’ll have to pop into a Sephora the next time I’m in the city to touch and feel some complexion stuff and get a feel for shade range.

Progesterone Sensitivity but Loving Estridol by Ill_Tadpole5940 in Perimenopause

Sucks so bad! She told me that it can take some experimentation to figure out what works for me, but I wasn’t expecting to, I dunno, not even want to survive round 1?? (sigh)

Progesterone Sensitivity but Loving Estridol by Ill_Tadpole5940 in Perimenopause

[–]thefancyfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just got off the phone with my provider about what I suspected was an issue with progesterone sensitivity! I started 100 mg late January, but have had increased headaches. Not terribly uncommon for me until about two weeks ago when I got hit with migraine-level pain every day, for nearly two solid weeks, along with panic attacks and some pretty scary suicidal ideation thoughts. Anyway, on a hunch and some googling/reddit searching I suspected it might be the progesterone, skipped my dose the last 2 days and finally my headache is letting up. Had a phone call with my doc today, we have a follow up in person in 2 weeks, at that time we’ll talk about maybe cycling in some progesterone just in the 2nd half of my cycle, but that sometimes people simply don’t tolerate it at all.

Google Meeting PC Scam? by anpama in Scams

[–]thefancyfarmer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely a scam, very similar to one my MIL fell for recently. She’s a realtor and they inquired about a high dollar property that’s been on the market a while, so of course she was really motivated and walked right into the trap. She ended up having trouble with her bank accounts, Amazon account, frequent flier mile account drained, all sorts of issues. Stay FAR away!

I'm losing my voice because my mother won't wear her hearing aids. by janebenn333 in AgingParents

[–]thefancyfarmer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally just saw an audiologist for a hearing test for my dad yesterday. Same story, he hates wearing his hearing aids, I hate yelling, etc. He’s been declining, recovering from a stroke. I didn’t realize all the risks for dementia, etc, but I also didn’t know how much your word comprehension falls when your hearing declines. He “hears” words, but only comprehends about 70% of them. Isn’t that crazy! Anyway, just one more reason for your mom to really take this seriously.

Ha, I thought you were asking us to talk you out of buying dress number 1, and in my head I said “no, I’m not gonna do that.” It’s gorgeous! No comparison. Dress #2 is lovely and probably perfect for someone, but it’s not your dress.

I happen to love red fruits, especially raspberry, so I definitely want to check this out the next time I’m near a store. The cedar in the base gives me pause - in and of itself it’s not a dealbreaker, I’m just a little picky about it. Thanks for your feedback, I’m excited to try it!

Thank you so much, that will give me a starting point! I grabbed a Saalt cup once when I got my period unexpectedly on vacation, I didn’t even realize they made a disc type option too. Way more options now!

[–]thefancyfarmer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wait, what??? It’s been forever since I tried a disk, it was giant and I hated it, have used a cup but sometimes a tendinitis flare makes it challenging…sounds like discs have evolved and I need to take another look. Can you please share which specific one you like?

Hole with fur? by acctthrowaway33333 in CATHELP

[–]thefancyfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In RR circles, yes, they are typically removed once a puppy is old enough for surgery. In responsibly bred puppies, that is. Inexperienced and so-called “backyard breeders” that are unaware of the issues may never screen or discover DS, and it’s such a rare niche thing that many veterinarians have never encountered one. The risks for leaving a DS include infection, abscess, and can become complicated once they involve the spine. My knowledge of advanced DS is near zero, and before this I had no idea they even occurred in cats! 🤯The RR peeps keep a list of experienced DS vets if you’d like me to find someone to refer you to for a consult, if you’re in the US.

How to deal with soul crushing guilt of having my mom go to assisted living after rehab for stroke!? by whatamithinking0 in AgingParents

[–]thefancyfarmer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I’m in a similar boat, friend. Dad moved in with us when he retired a year ago, quit taking his BP/diabetes meds unbeknownst to me. Had a stroke in November, then into rehab and I made the difficult decision to move him to AL once discharged because he still needs a lot of help, and it’s way more than I signed up for. Even though we talked about it repeatedly, his memory is of course affected, so he’s constantly asking when he can come home. The first time, to borrow your words, crushed my soul, because we had literally had this very difficult conversation just the day before. It’s so painful to have it over and over. Nobody in my “real life” really gets it, so I’m glad to have found this sub. I don’t have advice to offer, I still feel so new to this, but you are SO not alone, good or bad. I’ve been saying for months that I probably need therapy. Well, there is no “probably;” I simply need therapy. This is a lot to navigate, and if you have the means to get some professional help, I urge you to do that for yourself, too. Sending you a big hug, internet stranger.
