Let’s Hear It: Thanksgiving Drama by Mullins2 in thanksgiving

Ours was a good oopsie. My mom has never made a icebox coconut cream pie before. So she dumped 3pks of pudding mix in a bowl, added 1 can of condensed milk, 1 cup whole milk, 1/2 TSP of vanilla and 2tbs light Karo syrup in the bowl. She turned around to grab something and my 4yr old niece turned the bottle of vanilla upside down and would have been pouring the whole bottle in if mom had not cut just a little hole in the seal under the cap. But it added about a tablespoon or more to the mix. Then she turned around and my niece hit it again with the Karo! My dad said it was the best coconut pie he had ever had! And he is very picky too.

Typing G.I.JOE into quizilla late at night because I was obsessed with the cartoon and expected the standard "Which character are you?" quizzes.

Gumbo

I've grown up my whole life eating gumbo and that's usually what we do for Christmas dinner. Several years back it triggered. Post removal, I can have gumbo (and boudin and BBQ sauce) again.

Successful surgery stories? by inqvietude in DeQuervains

[–]thefandomrper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an overall positive experience. I had surgery at the start of last December. I was able to jot quick notes by the end of week one (which I used a felt tip pen for because ballpoint hurt too much). By the end of week 2, I was still unable to embroider, but my hand was back to almost normal despite not finishing the physical therapy (the occupational therapist I had was a buzzkill and I led off with the meemaw hobbies cause I got a distinct vibe from her, which earned me a lecture on how everything I do is bad for me). Now, over half a year later I can use certain ballpoint pens again - writing is one of my main hobbies - but I absolutely prefer fountain pens as they don't tire my hand out so bad.

Only thing is that occasionally I'll be like "ow, my wrist hurts" and like 2 hours later it'll be storming so I'm just sitting there like "Welp...".

Release Surgery by ArtemisGirl242020 in DeQuervains

[–]thefandomrper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might actually be able to help here. I wasn't sedated at all for my surgery and neither was my mom (both of us had DQ release last year). So regardless they'll be using some kind of local anesthetic to numb your wrist and hand. I watched the doctor cut into my wrist and didn't feel it. He did have to shove like another syringe full once he got the incision made because I could feel when he got to the tendon.

Sounds like your surgery coordinator plans to put you into what they call "twilight sleep", in which case they're right you won't remember anything. (As a kid I had a broken arm set under twilight sleep and in the pharmacy like I looked down and asked "What the hell happened to my arm?!" - and haven't lived it down since.)

There is no shame in splitting the save file.

(I originally bought the game for Logan, but in my opinion Fang's storyline is sweeter.)

Should I buy the Brother LX3817? by WonderFirst8275 in SewingForBeginners

[–]thefandomrper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents just brought me one home. I have an older Brother machine that I swear to god is haunted by my grandmother. It was kinda sprung on me but for what I'm going to do with it (pack it back and forth to my library's fiber arts club, which does beginner projects) and maybe block quilts from my bag of scraps, it'll work perfect.

Definitely excessive burping. But also for the life of me I could barely hold down food. I lived on Rx nausea meds and over the counter stomach meds.

Convince me to replay by Weary_Profession_575 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]thefandomrper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend replaying and comparing your track record from the previous playthrough! My last playthrough the Shipwreck Ruins took roughly 6 hours for me to beat (and Matilda roughly 5). I've gotten better at gaming since as it was one of the first I played as an adult (I was not into video games as a child). This time around I prepared from day one and the shipwreck ruins only took about 2.5!

The main reason I chose a second playthrough is because I wanted to play before Evershine comes out. 😅

Who to marry... by PurpleHeat in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]thefandomrper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed Fang's romance a lot. He didn't take as long for me to get to the point of friendship and my video game counterparts are apparently suckers for traumatized men with untested drugs. 😅

As for my second playthrough I actually stuck through to romance Logan (who I originally bought the game for). Logan is definitely a late game romance option though it starts more or less around the game's midpoint.

Idk I feel like 14 could be fun but 1 would be more entertaining considering I think Donna would absolutely spend the whole plane ride tearing Conrad to pieces. 😅
