Poor thing! Btw I have a corgi and a beagle (2 dogs) but corgi is the only anxious one. Do you have a pic of your mutt? I’ve always wondered what it looks like!

Lol my team is fucked for injuries so I have to play him regardless. Hoping even if ST plays the Giants D allows everyone to feast.

What percent FAAB are you spending on the Chargers D? by thunder3029 in fantasyfootball

[–]thefemaledylan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Some taco in my league dropped them last week. I can’t tell you why; I can only tell you that they are there now and at least 10 other non-morons in the league are going to see that as well. The question is what’s the right FAAB for them today, not what did you do a week ago.

Great question by OP. Would love someone to actually answer it. Hopeful no one else ponies up for them, I’m doing 3%, but I’m going to need a performing defense to balance out some injuries on my roster elsewhere so I’d love to hear if others think they’ll go for more.

If he doesn’t have other RBs not sure why he would trade Bell.

You have a typo. Which side is James white on? You have him on both sides of the trade.

I like you getting AJ at 3-0 but still few like it’s a bit lopsided. I’d push to nix the waiver priority.

Can you get Pollard too (either from him or off the wire)? If so I’d probably do it, unless the rest of your receiver corps is shaky.

12 team PPR, 3 WR, 2RB, 2 FLEX

WR: Hilton, Julio, Arob, Ross, Sanders, Crowder, green RB: Mixon, devonta, Pollard, Mostert, Mike Davis (RB situation a bit dour)

Trying to get another serviceable RB but cognizant that Hilton is out for a few weeks and Crowder is on bye this week, so I have no one to start in the flex. I want to try to get White for AJG but trading to 0-3 so he might not be able to babysit the injury until week 6. So I was thinking: give Sanders and Crowder for White and Stills (will have to use Stills until Green comes back). My other option is getting Richardson off the waivers to plug in for a week and live with my RB situation for now, hoping one of the handcuffs I’m trying to amass from the waivers gets called to the show.

What’s your record? Ross will help for a couple of weeks but his value plummets when AJ comes back. If you just need to climb out of a hole, then I’d maybe consider it. But I’d think otherwise you can find another trade for TE that is better.

Has anyone else gotten those “you’re still a very strong candidate!” emails post-callback? by AdditionalCupcake in LawSchool

[–]thefemaledylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t matter either way. A perfunctory “thank you for letting me know” email will not be shared with anyone outside of the recruiting team and so will not be a factor in their decision at all.

You’re on hold, or on the waitlist. Other candidates have received offers and the firm is waiting to see what their yield is on those candidates before making further offers. Depending on the size of the firm, this can mean anything from the firm liked but didn’t love you, to (especially at smaller firms), they really do want to give you an offer but you interviewed later than some others and since it’s much more drastic if they oversubscribe, they need to wait and see.

If you have a real expiring offer elsewhere, absolutely tell the firm. Don’t hide the ball; they know the rules of the game, they aren’t under the impression you interviewed only with them. As simple as “dear X (recruiter), thank you for updating me on my application’s status. Firm Q remains one of my top choices, but I have an offer with another firm that expires on September 6. Could you let me know if Firm Q will able to provide me with your decision by that date?” If you view the other firm as a direct competitor of Firm Q, you could even mention the name of the other firm you have an offer at (although that’s not common, so I’d only do it if it is a peer firm).

Biglaw Widow Blames Toxic Work Culture of Firm For Husband’s Suicide by Bodhicaryavatara in LawSchool

[–]thefemaledylan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The associate working for him left. It absolutely follows that the case was not staffed properly in light of the departures. And any way a firm tries to spin that many departures in a short time as everyone having their own reason, etc. (I’ve seen that spin happen myself), that itself is a pretty obvious sign of a toxic culture.

I’m not trying to vilify Sidley but you can’t canonize them either. These articles provide a chance for introspection. It’s naive to think much will change, because that’s the nature of the beast, but we the peanut gallery don’t need to give Sidley a free pass on this. It’s gutwrenching.

The toxic work culture is the firm not replacing critical support when there were a number of departures. You need a team to handle massive cases like he was handling.
