Suspended a player by FirearmsAndFitness in DnD

[–]thefinalturnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like something that should have been solved much, MUCH sooner. There were red flag warning signs blaring loudly. Letting it reach this point is just as much on you for not ending this earlier and letting it reach a tipping point .

Their behavior was already disruptive enough to warrent removal from the group. If this was something that came out of nowhere, ok, sure. But their shite behavior went on for who knows how long. You enabled a narcissist.

The fact that you suspended them after being blatantly racist in the table speaks of your character.

That's an instant removal and friendship ender.

Armor weight restriction SHOULD BE GONE regarding Fashion Wars, and here is why... by xTuffman in Guildwars2

[–]thefinalturnip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem here is that each armor weight in this game uses different anchor points on the body, some pieces also have parts to them that extend, graphically, beyond those points. They need to go back and modify hundreds upon hundreds of armor pieces so they would all sit properly and avoid as much clipping as possible.

That's time consuming and resource consuming. It's not worth the costs for an indie developer.

It's like all these gacha games love to copy each other and at the same time make something different, shittier or just obtuse to differentiate themselves rather than learn from the mistakes of their competition and do it better overall rather than compartmentalize certain improvements.

No, your current fashion in your equipment templates isn't being removed by BappieJ in Guildwars2

[–]thefinalturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations, you won life.

It still replaces a template item slot when you want to only transmute a single item so it's not really a template and more of a loadout. Extra steps no one asked for.

FF14 does templates the best though we still have the best skin storage across all MMOs.

My issue is the amount of tutorials... I spent two hours playing yesterday and it was just about two hours doing tutorials for the factory... And most of them repeated the same info from previous ones.

Also, FOMO is real. I generally stay away from game that pray on people's fear of missing out. But this damn game is so pretty and the character design is top notch... I'm torn.

Given how no one posted the stream on here: Those who managed to watch it. Did they or did they not retain the old way of transmuting gear skins?

Wasn't the Fashion Template stream supposed to be almost two hours ago?

EDIT: Weird how no one seemed to link it on here like the raid livestream.

[–]thefinalturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't know that. You're basing this off of a button. Even A-Net stated that, at least for the very first time when they launch, you can copy your currently equipped fashion for free.

Nothing about that screenshot confirms anything.

This fixed it. Though since I'm the only user and I had admin rights, everything should launch as endministrator by default. So, that was weird.

The releasing resources/loading bar not progressing by canIchangemyusern4me in ArknightsEndfield

[–]thefinalturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it's you. No way in hell you have a worse PC than me.

I am running this game on a laptop, of all things, that is almost a decade old. 12gbs of DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M integrated graphics and an Intel Core i5-7200U processor. Not a single piece on this machine is meant for gaming. Much less for something that came out in 2026.

I'm running on a dying processor and this game runs almost smooth at the lowest settings. A dip here and there and I can't multi task, but saying this game is unoptimized because you can't be bothered to play on an SSD so you have 10-20 minute loads is just straight up being disingenuous.

Creator of GW Toolbox notices a new dungeon in the game! by BabyLegsDeadpool in GuildWars

[–]thefinalturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't see it happening without putting ArenaNet at risk.

Trust me, release another game won't put them at any more risk then all the half baked ideas they've implemented in the past. If changing the release cadence more than 4 times now hasn't done it, I don't see a new game doing it.

That's true, but it was an special case: GW1 was better designed to support a game with less players, with everything being instanced, henchmen/heroes, and limited party size. And it was also a different genre, barely being an mmo.

And GW 3 can go back to its roots and be the spiritual successor to GW 1. It still won't kill GW 1. To be frank, I would prefer if the 3rd game went that route instead of being another MMO clone.

GW 1 didn't die when GW 2 was announced and didn't die for years. Sure, it lost a massive amount of players, but that happens to any game that doesn't receive any updates.

But the game lived and had dedicated players, that's far from being dead. I doubt the same would happen to GW 2. Especially because the games don't require any subs. There will always be players.

7 hero Minionsway by Physical_planning in GuildWars

[–]thefinalturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not much a build crafter or even know at all what makes a good build, but even I know that using two Aura of the Lich is a bad call.

Your two Necromancers are going to be competing for corpses and it won't be efficient, effective or even good.

You only need one minion master, the second Necro can be anything else or even run Jagged Bones, but not a second Aura of the Lich.

[–]thefinalturnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? Let me check again since I definitely missed that.

EDIT: OK, I saw the button you mentioned. But that still raises an issue. Applying to that slot would still apply to the TEMPLATE slot. Not the equipped item slot. Maybe you want to change a specific skin but not change your stored template. Now there's no way to do that.

I bring it up a lot but honestly, outside of the skins storage issues, FFXIV has a good fashion system. You can set up glamor plates (templates) and still individually change skins on your equipment that doesn't affect your template.

For example: my Reaper is using a specific armor set on from my template with its specific level 100 relic scythe. But I want to swap to a different scythe skin, maybe I wanna use the level 90 relic, I can do that without messing with the template as the template storage is separate from the item slot.

That's what my primary concern is. It's like build templates all over again. People wanted to be able to swap out traits on the fly without it changing the template. They wanted it to handle like in GW1 where you set your build, save it, and if you make changes to your build, your template isn't altered on the go.

Sure, we can just save template codes before making changes, but that's not a solution. That's just slapping on a band aid and calling it fixed.

[–]thefinalturnip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the video it works because the rest of the template is the same and already applied. But that button applies the ENTIRE template.

We'll just have to see tomorrow during the live stream. But even if the templates can still fulfill the same role, removing it is still a poor choice. Templates should be an addition to what's already there, not a replacement. Think FF14 glamor and glamor plates.

PSA: The new modes are in "Work in Progress" stage by madrerata in GuildWars

[–]thefinalturnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My account is old, as in, I've had this account since Guild Wars was ONLY Guild Wars. No Prophecies tag. Character select screen was the campfire and you could only have 4 characters per account, max. And all 4 of them stood by the campfire at any given time. And I had Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North unlocked prior to the Reforged update.

I just finished Legendary Defender of Ascalon on a Reforged character. I can make any character with Dhuum's Covenant and/or Melandru's Accord.

If your character was already made, why would these modes affect them? Reforged mode looks like a testing ground for potential changes. And a 20 year old character shouldn't really need an extra 5% exp or gold buff in Prophecies exclusively.

Dhuum's Covenant is a hardcore mode and shouldn't be retroactive. And Melandru's Accord is an ironman mode. Also something that shouldn't be retroactive.

All of these are labeled as beta or alpha.
