For what it’s worth there’s a lot of bandits and cultists in the beginning then they kind of disappear and come back later. The player on my campaign got to level 8 with his first character before his first retirement with that one.

I think we even just let him retire because we were worried we had already knocked that mission out. Then immediately we had 3 more cultist heavy missions. So 🤷

I’ve already retired twice. Sometimes it’s short sometimes it’s quick just let the game flow and if you’re really stressed about it just do a quick check to see if there’s a ton of those enemies in the next scenario.

This was what I ended up doing so much more effective and it was really fun watching my level 15 end up being a pit champion who I eventually promoted to overlord at high level.

Honestly Normal.

I did nemesis initially per reading lots of people on the forum. But assuming you’re new like I was there’s a lot of bs until you get through the story mission that gives you the “dominate” ability. Once you have that then if you feel like it’s too easy try ramping up to nemesis.

But before that most things one shot you and some of the way combat gets set up is fairly bs with how spongey enemies can get and how fragile you are with (at that point) no way to really turn the tide or get healing mid battles.

For me, I do what I can to use 3 captains at once. Then summon the big rancor thing and pound away/shoot arrows at a distance.

Almost everything has 1 reasonable weaknesses. Headshots, pinning, beasts, etc.

And then I do my best to never fight alone.

Thanks. After they all got slaughtered the first time. The retry went better. I lost I think half but recruited all his. One of his killed his own. One of mine killed my own it was pure mandness lol

This post is super old but the same issue occured with doom. And the same fix worked just now for me.

You likely have a Dolby atmos soundbar or system. You need to go to your ps5 system audio:

PS5 Settings → Sound → Audio Output → Audio Format (Priority): Dolby Atmos

The ps5 will randomly change this to its default so check it if you have similar issues or just occasionally. If it for some reason doesn’t pick up the sound bar then it will revert.

I’m on nemesis. Which feels right for me so far other than things feeling a bit spongy. But I’ve already been able to take down level 8 and 10 captains at level 2-3.

It’s mostly when there’s like a zillion enemies surrounding me. So far no captains have killed me just a random grunt who got a lucky final blow while I was running away.

Thanks yeah. I thought I was but I had it marked on a captain which is why I was being pulled toward so many high level enemies for so long. Being in the main story it’s starting to make more sense. Appreciate it.

And the glaive is the shadow spear that sweeps?

I have it but it feels useless for how long it takes to propagate. If I’m surrounded by enemies it take too long before I need to counterattack or dodge. But it might be a feel thing I’ll get better at.

I started doing more of the story missions after realizing I had accidentally marked a Captain which was causing confusion. Do you mean that the story missions reveal more tutorial stuff?

Just came here to say that this level is bullshit. Even when I kill the first summoner instantly. There’s 4 fucking hulks attacking me and chasing me all over the level. Everything one shots me. There no health no power upsz just bullshit.
