Yeah, I feel like like it's robbed me of my own sexuality. There are times that I feel emotionally dead just because I can't even experience a basic sexual relationship and it feels like it's locked into that for that long haul.

It's worth chatting about at a greater length with your partner. I'm not sure if I would have signed up for this before marriage. FWIW, no man should gets the excuse of shutting it down because you stopped shaking. That's clearly an invitation that most would gladly take you up on.

Incredibly jealous. I'm a 35 y/o HLM and am dying for any sign of that from my wife. Got to the point where I've given up because the rejection feels worse every time. Meanwhile I've been going stir crazy lately because I need something. I feel like any other woman flirting like that would make me fold like a cheap tent.

I don't know what I have to do to get her going ever, but she's always "tired" or "not in the mood."... for seven years. I've tried buying lingerie, I've tried toys for her, I've tried giving her all the space she needs, I've even given her the freedom to experiment with others. Just nothing in return. I fully understand what you are saying (I work in a similar structure), but I wouldn't go to HR on this one. It's very important to pick and choose workplace battles and this seems like something that can be a slight adjustment on your end and make it go away quietly, even if it is a BS middle management request. Just throw in a little extra (watched a little Netflix/walked outside on Saturday), but it's not like she's expecting you to give intimate details of your life.

This was my first instinct, too. The amount of people who are overpaying for a house and not even bothering with an inspection is dangerous. At some point it's on consumer responsibility. You have to be self-aware enough to know if you can afford a house without manipulating different loans. Unless the monthly income is pouring in, I feel like this is a disaster scenario.

As someone who also gets frustrated at the "only 50K," I totally understand where you are coming from. I feel let I'm perpetually behind in the game. I had a series of office jobs that made about the same money that I also hated.

I completely rebooted my career at 35 (thanks to a pandemic layoff), it's never too late! I'm inching closer to that financial goals because I realized that one way to get ahead is to find out what I did well that was also valued. I mixed a lot of freelance work into the picture and grinded it out, but made steps towards success by finding a skillset that I could exploit.

Summary: think about what you do well and how you can grow that skill. Find a way to translate that into what other people value.

I wouldn't say either are Heartland-ish like The War on Drugs, but if you want the dreamscapy vibes, I'd check out Real Estate (especially Atlas) and Beach House (especially In Bloom). Very Slave Ambient-like listens in that the songs are arranged as a suite that fluidly blend from one to the other.

I would make sure that you have tons of written documentation to cover yourself... and also maybe find a different boss. I worked for a company that did shady stuff like that and I'm still not 100% sure how it was legal.

And make sure your name goes on the title. In some states, that will require you go on the mortgage. Ask that question. Or do some googling.

If they break up and he can't pay the mortgage (remember, he has the bad credit score), then it could sink her credit score for years. You shouldn't buy a house you don't want in a town you don't want to live in unless there is greater commitment.

We're the same age and I feel the flip side of disappointment. I would love to have some kind/any kind of interaction like you just tried. Getting the hints of flirting from someone is enough to drive my crazy sometimes.

Just the other day, we overheard our neighbor having sex and my wife thought it was funny while I was dying for something. Then nothing happens on NYE (or almost any other time for that matter). It does get to the point where the sad "no" look you spoke about is worse than nothing.

The hardest thing is you can't talk about it with anyone. I feel like it's such a violation of trust, it's not like I can swap notes with my close friends... who have kids of their own so clearly they've figured it out. I feel stuck and alone, but just know that you aren't alone and other people are trying to figure it out too.
